There is a lot of strong instrumental work on this album, as well as tuneful singing and decent songwriting. You could do a hell of a lot worse for five dollars. Alors oui le début de cet album de Violens est un pillage de ce qui se faisait de mieux en matière de pop des années 80 : The Smiths, New Order et Lloyd Cole sont accaparés par le groupe. Alors on se demande à quoi bon écouter une copie toujours moins bonne que l'original. C'est sans doute aller un peu vite en besogne, car si les premiers morceaux sont caricaturalement des fac similés, "Amoral" prend au fil des titres la tangente pour aller dans un registre qui lui est propre. Comme si Violens nous servait une matière brute, connue, et ensuite la malaxait pour en faire une œuvre originale, référencée bien sûr, mais d'une identité propre. Sans doute que les trois membres du groupe avaient besoin de ce processus pour s'affranchir de fantômes pour le moins encombrants dans ce registre musical. Le résultat est inégal mais quelques morceaux méritent tout de même l'attention, voir plus.
