Review: Excellent switch for the money - It's been in service for almost 1 year now and have not had any issues with it. Works very well. Review: Prone to fail speed control failure. - This model has a flaw with the fan. About 3 weeks after I purchased it, the fan suddenly ramped up to 100% speed at all times and was extremely loud. After a lengthy support process, it was RMA'd and the new unit worked correctly. Until about 9 months later, when it too experienced the same glitch with max fan speed and extreme noise levels. Even after unplugging and and letting it cool down completely, then powering it up with NO load resulted in constant maximum fan speed. Either the fan speed controller or temperature sensor that controls it is faulty and prone to breaking down. I have replaced it with an Omada SG3428X-M2 which costs less, has the same number of ports, is more powerful, and is extremely quiet. Buy that instead. I am giving it 2 stars rather than 1 because other than the fan issue and availability of a better unit for less money, this switch DID work correctly and at the advertised speeds. ## Features - DEVICE INTERFACE: 24 x 2.5G RJ-45 ports (10Mbps/100Mbps/ 1Gbps/2.5Gbps) , 4 x 10G SFP+ ports (1Gbps/10Gbps), LED indicators - TRENDnet LIFETIME PROTECTION: We stand by our products.
