The zipper is strong and the capacity is comparable to any other of these pouches I've seen. For me, the texture is really off-putting, because I and some of my kids have some sensory sensitivities, but I think it will soften up with time and it is meant to go in a binder, which would minimize the need to touch it. I also recognize that the stiffness is part of what makes it a heavy-duty quality.
