Review: A most excellent camera! - This is an amazing camera. There’s really nothing it can’t do. Autofocus is superb, as is subject detection. There are so many customizations you can do with this camera. I urge you to read the manual or you will miss out on some incredible features. After trying multiple focusing methods available, I have discovered that AFC, 3-d tracking, with automatic subject detection is the absolute best. It rarely misses. It’s incredibly fast and is built like a tank. I love the Nikon ergonomics much better than any camera I have ever used. It’s got the most frequently used features on buttons so once you have done initial setup, you rarely need to go back to the menus. The i menu is such a timesaver. I love this camera and highly recommend it. It’s got a little bit of a learning curve but it is worth it.

This is an amazing camera. There’s really nothing it can’t do. Autofocus is superb, as is subject detection. There are so many customizations you can do with this camera. I urge you to read the manual or you will miss out on some incredible features. It will take you a while to sort through all the features but I am very impressed with the new "pin point" focus feature that allows you to get through the leaves and branches to the bird. In combination with the "animal" option that locks on to the birds head and eyes the photos are much more pleasing. I am very happy with my Z9.
