I would apply it at the same time you put seed down and water it in well. I don't know where you live but this product should provide protection for around three months. **Q: Does it kill ticks?** A: No,it doesn’t as the label clearly states. **Q: How do I spread this for lace bugs on azaleas? Some are small bushes. Others are 8 feet across of bushes growing close together.** A: Since this is a systemic insect control you would have to loosen the dirt beneath the bushes and then apply around the base of the plants. It will take some time for the plant to take this up into its system and kill the bugs. It is a bit late in the year for this treatment to be totally effective, you should be starting in the spring with this.
