Personally, I prefer this — they don’t feel spongy or cheap, and they still protect surfaces while giving a very positive grip. The joint is tight with zero flex or play, which makes them feel precise and well-made. The spring-loaded handles are also a nice touch, making repetitive work comfortable and smooth. Overall, they feel like a quality Japanese tool that should hold up for a long time. If you’re expecting rubber jaws, these aren’t that — but if you want firm, non-marring jaws with excellent build quality and smooth action, these are excellent. Highly recommended.

I don’t know much about the brand but decided to give them a try. I wanted some general purpose pliers that won’t scratch surfaces like door handles, appliance parts etc. and these work great so far! The plastic protective grip isn’t entirely plastic. It has some malleability and rubbery grip. The hinge is spring loaded which is nice too. They are very slim and lightweight despite being fairly long (over 8” for this model). The price was reasonable and the joint is adjustable so I think they’re overall a very good value! I added some detailed photos so you can see the materials a little better. The only downside is the packaging is in Japanese but there’s a trick - take a pic of the packaging then highlight the text in the photos app. Copy and paste the text into google translate and bam! Google will tell you what it says!
