Review: Great tabletop version of a game I already loved - I already had experience with Gwent from the video game, so I knew the mechanics going in, but I was still curious how well it would translate to a physical card game. Happy to say it works really well. I’ve played this mostly with friends who range from total beginners to people who enjoy strategy-heavy games. Setup is straightforward, and once you get through the first round, the flow feels very natural. Matches are quick but still require real thought, which makes it easy to play multiple rounds without it dragging. The cards themselves feel high quality and the artwork is excellent, especially if you’re a Witcher fan. Only thing I would like to see in a new release is a hard cardboard mat for the actual game. the current one is simply paper. If you like deck-building or tactical card games, or already enjoy Gwent digitally, I’d absolutely recommend this. It’s easy to learn, hard to master, and very replayable.

Love Gwent in the video game! I stayed up all night playing just to get the cards. This board game is fairly true to the video game version. My only qualm with it is the paper board that you lay out the cards on. It has a lot of creases and doesn’t seem like it would last if you use it a lot. But if you know how to play, you really don’t need it. The actual cards are fairly thick card stock and seem like they will last Definitely worth the price. So put on some witcher tavern music and have fun Gwenting!
