Kind of like a live news cast.** A: Yes! You can set keys to toggle different scenes and sources in OBS (and potentially other live video programs) so it can definitely be used as a switcher. We use it for live streaming on Facebook and it is great! **Q: Is this able to issue standard keyboard commands or execute other programs?** A: You can set any of the keys to act as a macro (two or more keyboard keys pressed simultaneously) but it doesn't allow setting one key to multiple inputs. For example, you can set a key as an input for "Windows +R" to bring up the run command in Windows. You can not set a key to press "Windows+R," type command.exe AND hit enter afterwards. As for programs, yes it can open them but only through their exe file. Some steam games for example, don't launch correctly if you don't launch from Steam itself or the shortcut steam creates. **Q: Does this require a separate power cord or does it draw power over USB?** A: As answered, all thru usb cable to power/connect. But they advise NOT to use a usb hub. It should be connected directly to pc. **Q: Does the deck hook into OBS for functionality or does the user still need hotkeys and set up macros on the deck.** A: Elgato Stream Deck directly ties into OBS with various functions.
