Well done Mr. Das! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Four Stars *by A***R on October 16, 2015* All pages are accounted for but have some tears. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The best UNIX book I have read so far! *by J***M on August 1, 2013* This book was the main text for a UNIX shell programming course I took in my undergraduate studies. Out of all the UNIX/GNU Linux books that I have read this is the only one that I would recommend to anyone who is new to UNIX like operating system and desires to go further than the basics. The organization of the presented concepts is logical and easy to follow for beginning users. The exercises are well paced and cover the subject matter contained in the chapters quite well. The system programming portions of the text are a great primer for those who wish to continue past the "power user" level that the first half of the book gets you to. I also like that the author points out the differences between GNU Linux and Unix, the features specified in the POSIX standard, and specific distinctive features of the various shells offered in *nix systems. Overall, I feel this book is the best UNIX/GNU Linux book currently available (as both a learning guide and reference) and would highly recommend it to anyone new to these systems.
