The Slimfold Men's Micro Soft Shell Wallet is a minimalist, ultra-thin wallet crafted from 70mph crash-tested, abrasion-resistant synthetic fabric. ## Description

Originally created for motorcycle wear, the material was subjected to 70mph crash tests using real pavement during development. At less than .5mm thick, it has enough body to be substantial, yet adds virtually nothing to your load. This layout is based on the Tyvek "MICRO size" but the best construction methods from fabric and leather are applied. Since it can be cut without fraying, the integrated card slot design further contributes to the wallet being 2-3 times thinner than leather wallets. The wallet uses no animal products and is Bluesign certified for its earth-friendly material. Features hybrid ID slot/window with stitched plastic cover. Made in San Francisco. This version blocks RFID signals 13.56 MHz and above (The range found in ID cards, passports, and credit cards). Some building access cards are NOT blocked, which means you may still be able to get in and out of your work doors while still protecting your credit cards from having their digital information taken.

Review: Great thin, light wallet. - I had the old Tyvek version. It eventually wore out - after several years. It was amazingly thin and light. Loved it. But it did show signs of wear (the gray colored Tyvek developed white wear marks where it rubbed) within a few months. After something like two years, it developed holes at the edges. When I went shopping for another thin & light wallet, I looked at a lot of options. SlimFold came back to the top of the list - as thin as possible, strong, credit cards cannot slide out. But I would not do Tyvek again. So I purchased the soft shell fabric one. It is nearly exactly the same design as the Tyvek one (the have added a see-thru plastic cover over the ID portion). I love the design. I've had it one week so far. I carry 8 cards and about 10 bills without any problem. I've done 12 cards and 20+ bills and it won't lay flat, but it does hold them nicely. If I were to express any concerns about this wallet: (1) The style is very casual - the Tyvek had a nice "alternative" story, but this just comes across as any other sports wallet - doesn't appear very professional; (2) It is a very dark black - the red stitching is very subdued. Why is black bad - in the week I've had it, I have twice not been able to find it when it was sitting in the bottom of a small duffle bag. Its so dark, it blends in the shadows. There is a gray version (like my old Tyvek one) which I think would eliminate that issue. I still rate this five stars because as long as you understand those two very minor quibbles going in, it is an amazingly thin, light, strong wallet. I've seen a few different pictures of the logos on this wallet. Mine has one logo, on the inside only, flush with the surface, and very subdued saying simply "slim fold".

The best part is, it is not any larger than absolutely necessary to hold everything perfectly. The wallet is durable and holds up very well. Mine still looks brand new and I have not even needed to wash it. I used to carry a "thin" leather bifold wallet. This wallet is so much thinner. When the SlimFold has 7 cards/IDs, 3 business cards, and 15 bills in it, folded in half, it is still as thin, maybe a bit thinner than an empty leather bifold. If you want the most minimalist yet most functional wallet available, this is it.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great thin, light wallet.

I had the old Tyvek version. It eventually wore out - after several years. It was amazingly thin and light. Loved it. But it did show signs of wear (the gray colored Tyvek developed white wear marks where it rubbed) within a few months. After something like two years, it developed holes at the edges. When I went shopping for another thin & light wallet, I looked at a lot of options. SlimFold came back to the top of the list - as thin as possible, strong, credit cards cannot slide out. I have had this wallet for a couple weeks now and I'm absolutely thrilled with it. I had a thin leather wallet previously and while it was thinner than most wallets it was too thick and if I had it in a back pocket it was uncomfortable to sit on. I tried a few other thin wallets and hated them and finally decided to try this one. Pros: 1) Super thin and light. When empty it almost weighs nothing. If you have a leather wallet the different pockets will take up space even when empty and the leather material is much thicker than this wallet. When this wallet's empty it weighs almost nothing and the material is paper thin. 2) Allows you to carry normal items securely. I tried a few other wallets and I was appalled at how the cards and cash were "secured". One of the wallets had a clip mechanism in the middle of the folding area to hold cash and I noticed it added bulk to the wallet and there were multiple complaints of it getting loose or breaking. I love the dedicated cash pocket on this wallet and that it's the perfect size for US currency. Some of the other wallets had the card openings facing outwards which doesn't make any sense to me. If the openings loosen, the card could come out and it would fall out in to your pocket or on the ground. With this wallet, the openings are towards the middle of the wallet. This means that if the card ever slips or slides out, there's nowhere to go when the wallet is folded in half. It just makes sense to do it like this and I am shocked so many other wallets are not designed like this. Cons: The only con for me on this wallet is the construction and appearance. Honestly, how often do people ever really pay attention to your wallet? I doubt very much, but this one does appear cheap and reminds me of the first wallet I had in middle school. I'm not sure how well this will hold up over the long term, but it doesn't seem super sturdy since it's so thin. Only time will tell, I don't think this is a big deal breaker. Overall, for the criteria important to me, this wallet is a 9.5/10.
