I buy my Red Jade directly from a farm in Taiwan. I decided to try the Yan Hou Tang Red Jade since previously I bought a very good small teapot from them. What can I say? Not only it is NOT a Red Jade, but it inot even a BLACK tea at all. It tastes like oolong (dong ding, heavily roasted). The Chinese characters do not identify a farm, and the packaging is generic. It does say "black", but it does not even mention #18. Beware! I hope to be able to like the JinXuan tea out of the four. So far, I only had a chance to sample the half cooked Taiwan high mountain tea. It is ok and should be good for those who love the half cooked/roasted tea. I mailed the rest of the bag to my 72yrs old mother; she said she loves that half cooked Taiwan high mountain tea taste. So I might order some more for my mother in the near future. I personally like only the uncooked/not roasted tea. So if you are like me who only likes the uncooked raw taste tea, the half cooked might not be a good choice. I will update more in the future as I get to sample the other three.I have been an oolong tea drinker for 25 years. I love the raw oolong tea or lightly toasted ones. Have been buying high quality oolong tea from a reliable tea supplier from Taiwan for 20 years. A week ago I decided to look into trying another supplier. Seeing the item description and the fact it states it’s organic, I decided to give a try to their “uncooked” tea. I have possibly 10-15 different coffee and tea in the cabinet at any given time. So when I saw this, and that it was from Taiwan, where it is known for good tea, I thought to give it a try.It arrived well packaged, and the actual package looks very presentable. If you were choosing this as a gift, it would be perfect. Sadly, my wife had the first drink while I was at work, but she did tell me it was pretty good, so I gotta try.There are two different types of tea, rolled or just plain roasted. This happens to be plain roasted (not rolled) so I tend to put a little bit more. Now, people would argue the best way to have tea, for me, I use a French press. I don't drink coffee with it, but tea and tea only. It allows the tea leaves to have a chance to fully relax, and unwind, thus, give you the full favor, or the lack of.This tea smells somewhat sweet, just a tad. But when you drink it, it has a very full-bodied taste, and not too sweet. I prefer to have my tea "as-is" meaning no sugar no milk (though, my wife like to add milk, and I tired it, it was good), just plain tea.Overall, I think this tea is really good, well worth the price and also the taste.
