The basket-weave pattern is nice (haven't seen one like this), and it does have a little texture, but nothing that hurts your feet. It's comfortable, well-made and never slips. I like that it has holes for circulation or drainage of the water. I believe the one I got was called grey, but it is really like a dark taupe. It's so neutral that it would go with any bathroom color. The price is right, too. I highly recommend this mat!
