In Old California [DVD]

This is a much better than average B movie western. John Wayne's role is a twist on the usual "city slicker" new to the west plot device. Wayne is the educated city slicker but you would hardly know it the way he handles himself and takes charge. His character must have practiced a lot at a shooting range in Boston.

This movie was great! Love “The Duke”. The DVD arrived promptly and had better sound and picture than the library copy I’d previously watched.

Wonderful movie I enjoyed seeing a young John Wayne.And old Sacramento California and there's GOLD in them hills.Or in the the Sacramento river that is.

The story line was better than many of John Wayne's movies including North To Alaska.

To see the old ways of living back in the old "cowboy life" was entertaining, but while I love all the cast I somehow hoped for a different ending.

One of Wayne's best early films.

Fantastic Movie, John Wayne aced it with superb acting, good dialogues and great acting.
