My dog likes the flavor!
My dog likes the flavor. The prior product I got were chewable pills and they were very hard to chew and sometimes my pup would turn his nose up to them. He likes these much better!

Unappealing size & shape for cats
Not what is advertised. Not chicken liver flavor, but straight up chicken. Huge bone-shaped chews, not the small triangles shown. Yes, you can break them up, but for this much money, the only reason you have to is because the package is also for dogs. My cat like the chew at first but trying to get it down hurt his mouth & now he's avoiding them. When your pet has CKD, it's a struggle to find food they'll eat, to keep them hydrated (hydracare helps but that is now a syringe-administered item), and it's deeply disappointing and discouraging to try such a highly rated product from a reputable company and feel once more that nothing is effective if you can't get your pet to eat it.

Same bag, product differs. Doesn’t smell or look same. BEWARE!
We bought this before, dog liked taste. It didn’t help keep dog’s kidney function from climbing, but dog ate it so we reordered. This time it’s a completely different item, aside from the bag. It looks different, has a different texture, and a very noticeably different smell. So now the dog won’t eat it at all! So in summary, when you order there’s not enough quality control to be sure you’re going to get the same product, it’s a $70 crap shoot. And, from the first order, it apparently doesn’t work at all to help dogs with CKD. Buyer beware, they’re abusing desperate dog owners trying beyond hope to treat their sick dog.

A Godsend!
I cannot thank Vetri-Science enough for making this ESSENTIAL product in a tasty chew that my very, very, very picky dog actually loves! My old girl (approaching 18 human years) developed early stage kidney disease about 18 months ago -- and it's been a real struggle trying to find a kidney supplement that she will tolerate over any length of time. Always something of a light eater, since developing the kidney condition she has become like the proverbial Princess and the Pea. No matter how cleverly I try to hide or disguise any tablet medicine, she quickly detects it and then refuses to eat whatever it's in. I tried assorted renal tablets, even ruining my coffee grinder so I could grind the tablets down into a powder so fine she might get fooled into eating it mixed in with her nice dinner of hamburger or pork. At best, that proved to always be a hit or miss proposition, and eventually -- despite rallying pretty nicely from the first onset of the disease -- it seemed she had started to droop again. In a final, desperate move, I ordered a bag of these Vetri-Science chews about 2 months ago and have been ecstatic ever since. Not only does my little terrier mutt-gal love them (it is our first treat upon returning home from our daily walks), but she has gained back some of the weight she had lost and seems generally much more energetic, sturdier, and happy.THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

Smells bad but works
I have two dogs. One will eat this smelly thing and the other one won't. Luckily, for me, the one who does is the one who needs this. So, there, I did a test for fur owners who have finicky pets. With that said, this product did significantly increase my dog's liver points on his test, which is great. Once, I stopped using this product, the numbers dropped. So, it seems as if you have to give this regularly for a dog, who is teetering on the wrong side of the liver test. I would say 2 to 3 times a week, once you got the numbers going in the right direction.
