Retirement for Beginners

Funny little book purchased for my husband on his retirement. The jokes hit home and we both laughed and enjoyed it. This didn't detract from our enjoyment, but just for your information: the book is written for the British worker, so there are a few words that don't apply to the U.S; the quality of the ink for the headings on each page is poor - it looks like a printer running out of ink.

Great book to give someone who is about to retire. Very humerous!

Hubby and I are about to start retirement...I have been for a couple of years, and he will soon join me. So, I've been reading several books on retirement. Saw the title, ordered, and started reading. This is NOT a "self-help, how to do it kind of book like I thought it was, but rather a little pocket book of funny "jokes" or commentary on retirement. It is very small in size, and you can read the entire book in about 15 minutes or less. It would be a cute "gag" sort of gift for a retirement party gift. No useful information is given, you end up feeling a little sad/scared about retirement, as the entire book focuses on how bad, broke, bored you will be. It is a little humorous, but don't expect and tips or guidance, and take it more as a joke.

Disappointed in this book. It is more designed for Europe.

Bought it for my boomer father-in-law and even he said it was too boomer for him. Weird humor and very british oriented.

Bought this as a joke for my missus when she retired a week ago, full of whit and funny jokes. I read some of it and you find yourself saying I agree with that. Book is a little smaller than I expected but good value all the same.

Cute and whitty. Puts a smile on anyone's face who may be feeling some anxiety about retiring. Illustrations make the book fun. Cute gift idea!
