I’m 49 (I always seem to start with that) and just realized last year that skin care was a thing I should probably start figuring out. I’m fair, red hair & blue eyes, and was blessed with great skin. Which I never took care of. So I’ve now got decades of sun damage and some serious signs of aging that I’m trying to figure out how to reverse, as well as figure out the whole skin care thing, in general.I started using these pads about 3 months ago. Like I said, the first time was not pretty. The instructions either weren’t clear or they just didn’t penetrate my brain. Anyway, I did my double cleanse and used these exfoliating pads immediately after, then followed up with my skin care routine. I did NOT rinse the product off. I woke up the next morning and my skin was shiny and tight and VERY “wrinkly” looking. I was horrified. I grabbed the jar and actually read and ABSORBED the instructions. A google search on what to expect from first encounters with glycolic acid soon followed. Oh. Oh my. Well, that certainly explains why my face looks like the surface of the sun combined with the texture of cracked plaster.The first time you use this product you should leave it on for 10 minutes (maximum). Rinse it off with water and then go about your nightly routine. You should also use it at night, not in the morning. And you should definitely wear sunscreen with an SPF30 or higher, once you start peeling following use. Since I used it wrong the first time, and left it on my face overnight, and this was the first time I’d used ANY kind of chemical exfoliant…..um, well I was peeling by that night. And continued to do so for the next few days. But when I was finally done, my skin looked wonderful. And I was now a chemical exfoliant convert. (If not an outright addict.)I started off using this 2-3 times a week, depending on how my skin was reacting. Your skin will tell you when it’s too much. For me, feeling a slight sting when using my other skin care products after using this is normal, but it shouldn’t last for long. However, If you are feeling a sting when you’re washing with a facial cleanser, you’re overdoing it (in my opinion) and you need to back off a bit. Your skin will adapt to the product over time. They also make the same concentration, only it’s in a cream that you leave on (and it has a gorgeous vanilla scent) that I now use on a daily basis. These pads still have a place in my routine when I don’t want to use a cream to buffer it’s effect. I’ve now ordered 5 or 6 products from Planet Eden and have not been disappointed with any of them. I’m getting ready to order one of their TCA Peels next…..cause like I said, I’m now an addict. *SHRUG*

Im updating this review. I tried them again and washed it off after about 10 mins and it did much better. Customer service was great at helping me figure out the best way to use them. My skin is so much more even toned and clearer. Im glad I decided to keep trying these. They are fantastic. My skin has never looked better. I was really having problems with uneven skin tone and general lack of radiance and they made a world of difference.For now im giving this 3 stars because it shipped fast and even came with a nice sized sample of their glycolic moisturizer...but the pads really burnt my face bad and I dont have sensitive skin. Im going to let my face heal and next time if i get ther nerve, im not going to leave it on but rinse it off after a bit. I contacted support and thats what they said to do..but just be careful when using these because they are super strong. I suppose though they do work,they are just really strong.

The product definitely exfoliates the skin but please be aware that if it is used too frequently it may cause irritation. Do not rub the pads on the skin over and over again in one spot. This may also cause skin discoloration. Other than those tips you can use the product to eliminate skin imperfections like wrinkles, fine lines, stretch marks, etc.

I love this- for my feet! I bought a name brand pad with the same ingredients that stung my face so I used them on my summer feet that felt like a cheese grater and two uses later they were smooth like the palm of my hand. When I ran out I spent some time figuring out which acids were in the name brand one since they didn’t sell it anymore. (I jokingly said sulfuric acid, muratic acid, because it was the first and only thing to help my poor feet other than a real cheese grater!) seriously these are a godsend for feet and the occasional elbow that lactic acid alone doesn’t solve. I can’t use them on my sensitive skin, it even tingles a bit aggressively on my forearm. So test a small area first and then order more. The scent is neither good or bad, I’m glad they don’t add perfumes to it.

Burnt my skin so badly it bled! Not safe do not use!!!!

Even though this isn't for MY type of skin at all, I'm giving it 5 stars because it does what it claims and will work GREAT for people without sensitive skin. I should've gotten the 10% formula. This is STRONG. If you have really sensitive skin like me, get the 10%. I could only leave this one for like a minute because of the intense stinging. But will definitely use it for the bottoms of my feet and my hands which are super rough. Anyway, kudos to Planet Eden for making a REAL authentic glycolic product that works. Also, I dealt with them regarding customer service for a few questions and they very promptly replied and gave me the info. I needed.
