Excellent in Every Use!
Divine Organics, 2.9 lbs Thai Coconut Sugar, 1300gm We aren't truly Paleo at our house, but we're close. And one of the things we've struggled with is having the sweet taste we want in certain things -- like that morning cup of coffee -- without suffering the glycemic ups and downs of most natural sweeteners and without resorting to chemical artificial stuff. Stevia helps, but I haven't achieved real satisfaction in baking with it in any recipe yet. We use agave syrup in some things with good results, but the taste often disappoints. I could go on, but to make a very long story short, we've been searching for a better solution, and that's how I happened to be on Amazon looking at different sugars and sweeteners, and I stumbled upon Divine Organics Thai Coconut Sugar.First of all, I had no idea there was such a thing. Our local organic market doesn't have coconut sugar, nor does our supermarket. Knowing nothing, I did a lot of research before deciding to order it. I was familiar with Divine Organics, and trust their products, so when I was offered a chance to try this at a reduced price in return for an honest and unbiased product review, I leapt at the opportunity. It arrived on time, and I thought the packing was good -- it was wrapped against breakage and in a sturdy carton. The white snap-on lid has to be released by pulling off a strip of plastic; the strip was damaged and we ended up using pliers to get it off. Not a huge problem, but worth noting. Once the strip was off, I began to unsnap the lid, working my way around. It seemed very difficult to do and I ended up asking my husband to help. When we got it off, we realized the issue was that in shipping, the sugar had liquefied (it says right on the container that it is liquid above 97 degrees, and it's been over 100 here in Arizona for weeks now, and even hotter in the back of the UPS truck!). It must have been upside down when that happened, and the liquid sugar seeped into the 'snap' areas of the lid. Nothing had leaked on the outside, so this is a very well-crafted container! We used a butter knife to remove all the sugar around the inside edges of the lid and everything is working fine now. The lid snaps on with discernible 'pops' and I think it will keep the product fresh for quite some time.Despite the research, I was surprised by the color, which is a creamy beige reminiscent of maple sugar. The taste is sweet and pleasing; not as sweet as regular cane sugar, but more like cane sugar than anything else I've tried. In my morning coffee, this is perfect!!Yes, it is a paste, and that means it's not very good at dissolving in cold drinks, like iced tea with lunch. Again, since we live in Arizona and it's over 100 degrees outside, I've taken to putting my Thai Coconut Sugar into a covered sugar bowl out on the patio. It liquefies before lunch, and then we use it in our iced tea, coffee and lemonade with ease. The flavor is spectacular -- there is no other word for it!!Last night, I baked gluten-free chocolate chip cookies with Divine Organics Thai Coconut Sugar, and the recipe was better by far than when I had used xylitol as the sweetener.Whatever your reasons are, if you want an alternative to cane sugar, I encourage you to try Divine Organics Thai Coconut Sugar. It's really head-and-shoulders above any other choice!!!As I said, I received my Divine Organics Thai Coconut Sugar at a discount in return for an honest and unbiased review.

Is Product Value Being Compromised?
Purchasing this item often has been a godsend to me and my large family. Some of my family members have health issues requiring a low sugar diet. This product has been a very good replacement for sugar, and I feel very positive about this. However, lately the product seems to be compromised in value. The last time purchased, the inner bag containg product was broken, and now this time, there is a foamy substance on top of product that looks questionable. Throughout the many times purchasing this product, I have witnessed the product present itself with different colors and consistencies but thought this might be a normal occurrence for this type of product. Please address these concerns, seller, regarding these concerns, and may God bless you!

NOT WORTH YOUR BUCKS
I was recently diagnosed with diabetes, so I thought this would be a good natural substitute over white sugar. I was very excited when I received this item. First, it was extremely hard to open the container. Then when I finally opened the lid, I could onky scrape buts because the whole thing was rock HARD solid. It tasted like SOAP!!! I am extremely DISAPPOINTED that I cannot return this item!!! It's $25 down the drain. This item does not deserve even a 1 star! DO NOT BUY!!!!!PS You can buy a similar product with the same but fresher/better quality from Asian supermarkets. I saw one for $5 including taxes! While this cost $25!!’ This is a total rip-off!

Plastic bag
Love the Thai Coconut Blossom Sugar Paste. It's delicious. As others have stated, the container is difficult to open. Once you get inside, the contents are in a plastic bag! What a mess as you get the sugar all over yourself. Why wasn't this in a food grade container? Such a waste, of the sugar. Ms.B

I love this stuff
I love this stuff...I can eat it straight from the container! It does wonders for every recipe I use it for. Assuming it matters to you to stay away from cane sugar or other higher glycemic sugars, this is an excellent product. I like it's taste much better than the dry coconut sugars (which I use as well since this one is a bit pricey). In case you aren't aware, the consistency of this sugar is more like a paste - moister and more compacted than brown sugar, and it needs to be refrigerated. - JW
