14oz Aroy D Massaman Curry Paste, Pack of 1

When I couldn't find massaman curry paste anywhere I checked on Amzon and was happy to find it and at a reasonable price. I've never had authentic massaman curry before so can't comment on how authentic the taste is but my family likes all types of curries so when I found a recipe that looked like it might be a winner I decided to try it. The ingredients in the paste looked good with no junk so I bought it. My recipe only calls for 3 tablespoons of curry paste so there was plenty left after I opened it which is great value for money. I store the remainder in the fridge. There is a bit of heat to it but not too much that my 11 year old was put off (none of us like spicy foods). In fact everyone agreed the curry was really good and it's now in regular rotation. I've made the curry 4 times now and there's still more curry paste left in the tub for about one, maybe two more curries. Definitely a winner.

I use this to make a Thai rice peanut butter condiment.Nice level of heat and outstanding flavor. Good price.

This paste is the foundation of a delicious massaman curry, but be aware that you are expected to enhance it with your own seasonings. The beauty of a massaman curry is found in its balance of sweet, sour, spicy, and salty tastes. After heating the Aroy-D curry paste (spicy), I then add a little fish sauce (salty), some tamarind sauce (sour), and some brown sugar (sweet). Palm sugar is more traditional, but I just go ahead and use what I've got. In fact, I'm not fussy about which particular brand of fish sauce or brown sugar I add to this dish, but when it comes to the tamarind sauce, I always use Tamarind Oh! from Essie Spice. Whenever I make my massaman curry, I warm the 4 'S' seasonings (spicy, sweet, salty, sour) in the pan and adjust the balance of flavors to taste before adding the rest of the ingredients. Works like a charm. I store the remainder of the Aroy-D paste in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep it fresh for next time (which is always soon because we love massaman curry).

Delicious and easy to make mssaman curry sauce..

This is okay but more spicier than the yellow curry. I was a little taken aback by it but I'll continue to cook with it.

My husband and I love all sorts of Thai curries, and we love the Aroy-D massaman curry paste - the recipe right on the back of the carton gave us delicious curry, and it was so easy! Essentially you just throw everything into a pot and let it boil for about 30 minutes, and bam - delicious curry! We have bought this many times now, and we’ll keep it stocked at our house for an easy go-to meal.

I got this for freezer meal prep but ended up making this for dinner the same day it arrived. The recipe on the package is SO good and tastes as good as a restaurant. I love how convenient it is to keep on hand.
