List of ingredients
Here is a list of the ingredients that someone asked for. (pictured)Very fast shipping... Always. Solid, dependable company. Ordered at least 2 bags per month for close to a year now. Chickens love it.EDIT: JUNE 2020 (5 YEARS LATER AFTER FIRST PURCHASE)I have purchased this chicken feed for over 5 years. My purchase history says I've purchased this feed 65 times, which averages over one bag per month. I have NEVER had an issue with this feed, company, or shipping times. They are always consistent, high quality, and their food produces the best eggs from my chickens.I have experimented with other chicken feeds for various reasons through the years and I've had problems like poor production, eggs developing a fishy smell, and thin shells. But as long as they are eating this Amazingly Tasty Layer Feed I have NEVER had any of these problems. I have had multiple breeds all with the same results. The only problem I have with this company and feed is that they do not offer larger amounts, like 50 lbs, for a small discount. If you are starting out with chickens, and you're doubting this purchase, have no fear!Yes, it can be expensive if your ratio is off. Along with scraps and forage, I generally go through one bag of feed per 10 or so chickens per month. I usually fill their food container (standard size, galvanized) halfway every 2-3 days and they forage and eat kitchen scraps daily. I get an egg almost every day from every chicken, but lets just say 7 out of 10, just to be conservative.$38 (with taxes) per month for 7 eggs per day for every 10 chickens = 17.5 dozen eggs per month. That's a little over $2 per dozen for the healthiest, most delicious eggs you will ever eat.Make sure your chickens can be chickens and eat insects and worms. Give them some scrap or compost heaps to dig through, some room to run and express their chicken-ness, and give them this Amazingly Tasty Layer Feed, and they will give you delicious eggs for life.

Everyone asks what I feed my chickens
Bottom line: this is good food. My hens go nuts for it (and they notice when I run short and try to sub something else, egg production also decreases) and they look beautiful. How beautiful? I live in a foreign country where animals are not always the most, uh, nice looking and people ask me if my hens are ‘American.’ They are not. They are regular ol’ local hens. The only difference is that they get good nutrition from this food. I do not give them special treats or supplements, just this food. When I sometimes run low and have to cut it with whatever I can find locally, they lay fewer eggs and are generally less happy (one even laid a shell-less egg, which really freaked me out, but she went back to normal after a few days back on this food). Also, the customer service is great. I had one shipment that had issues (out of 18 with no problems, even with my unusual address) and they responded quickly, gave me a refund, and thanked me for serving our country overseas. I will order this food literally wherever in the world I go and own hens.

Nice food, but like many
Nice food, but like many, it includes too much mash, which my chickens, and even the chipmunks, won't touch.

Eggshells are Thicker!
We have two chickens, Lily and Rose. Yup, just two.Normally they just get feed that’s organic layer hen feed. Sometimes they get meal worms for a treat. I got them this vitamin powdery stuff too but they are not interested in it one bit. Sometimes they get scraps, but always healthy scraps. They don’t get left over spaghetti or something. It’s not that they wouldn’t like that though, I’m pretty sure they would. They have their own yard that is pretty sizable. In the past I have let them out into our full yard to eat bugs and stuff. I can’t find their eggs when I do that though.Still, thin shells.Their eggs have always had thin shell! It’s so frustrating.Thin until. NOW! WOW! This feed has made a giant difference! Incredible.I just figured they were doomed to have thin shells.Their shells are much thicker and their yolks a much deeper yellow!WOW!So I absolutely recommend this chicken feed and will continue to buy it for Lily and Rose!

Not for my hens
My girls pick out the good stuff and leave the small brown pellets which comprise most of the feed, the rats won’t eat it either!. The product description states that it is sheep and goat feed, but the heading says layer, unfortunately I did not scroll down to see the product description when I purchased this feed.

Wow! Exceptional Quality! Very Pleased!
This is a very high quality feed. I recently adopted 4 laying hens from a real estate client. They came from a small urban farm--in a flock of 14. They weren't in the best condition when we brought them home and I made it my quest to get them happy & healthy. I've been making a custom blend of organic laying pellet feed, this grain blend, kelp, brewers yeast, Avi-Cal supplement and a blend of herbs. We've had the chickens for about 8 weeks now and their improvement is amazing. Their combs are vibrant red (they were faded and dry-looking when we got them), their feathers are shiny, they look fantastic. They will pick through the pellets to get these grains, they LOVE them (along with the dried meal worm snacks they ge daily). This feed is a bit expensive, but if you love your animals like we do, it's worth it! Remember, you are what you eat and since we eat their eggs almost daily we want to make sure that our chickens are as healthy as can be.
