Broan-NuTone 413004 Non-Ducted Ductless Range Hood with Lights Exhaust Fan for Under Cabinet, 30-Inch, Stainless Steel

The Broan-NuTone 413001 is a solid choice for anyone looking for an affordable, non-ducted range hood. It’s easy to install, fits perfectly under a 30-inch cabinet, and does a good job at clearing smoke and odors. The built-in lights are a nice bonus. For the price, it's a great value if you're looking for something simple and effective.

I replaced a 43 year old mobile-home range hood because I was never able to use it due to the exhaust fan vent closure flap never working and the hole faced north; the direction we get all of our extreme cold and winter wind from so I had sealed the fan opening off. In the winter time if I did not keep the cupboards above open my cooking oils would freeze. The grease continued to build up even with continual cleaning until I could not stand it any more. I did not know they made a non-outside-vented hood range until I went looking for a new vent hood. Because the lip of the cupboard is a bit lower than the actual base of the cupboard I had to use some 3/4" plywood (2 pieces of 2" x 11") as "spacers" on both ends to make the hood level. I attached them to the bottom of the cupboard and then used shorter screws to attach the hood to the plywood. I used styrofoam insulation and heating-duct tape to seal off the original vent opening. The fan is very quiet and i could feel the difference in the low and high speeds although neither of them were real powerful. I have yet to need to use the fan since with the hot weather we are still having I have not used the stove top to cook any fatty foods. I like the white verse the brushed aluminum of the original hood; it makes it look lighter and brighter and should be easier to wipe off each time I clean. I did install this by myself and the only time it would have been convenient to have help is when I went to lift it up and attach it to the cupboard - I am just over 5' and of retirement age, but I made a couple of props to hold up the back and other side while attaching the first side. There are only two colored wires (white and black) which you need only to attach to the original white and black wires, and then attach the ground wire to the green screw. There is a plate covering the wires held on by a small black screw. There are 4 short screws provided (but I used longer and wider threaded screws) for attaching the hood.

Installed over a year ago still works fantastic

It did not come with an electrical cord, and the cord I ordered was a few inches short and it had to come out of the top of the unit, which took away from the length. Otherwise it is a great fan, low noise, (I didn't hear the fan when it was on the low setting, I thought I installed it incorrectly). The filter is easy to remove and clean, the fan works well, no more smoke...my smoke detector always alerted us when we cooked. Maybe I should say when I cooked. The bulb is easy to screw in, it looks great in our kitchen, it matches well with everything.

This hood was easy for my handyman to install. The light and fan both work and it matches my new stainless steel appliances. It looks very nice, is east to clean, and I’m happy with my purchase.

Works wonderful

Great addition to my new house it's stainless steel I clean it with 656 marine lube only and bought a led bulb for it and works like a charm! It's Broan! It's good quality for me it's just aesthetic look for my kitchen and does the job! it has 3 levels not noisy at all and keep in mind this blows up upside in the front grill it work as described
