I have a large collection of coins, but have been loath to figure out what to do with them. After my first 18 coins in the military, I have a very nice case custom made… and then acquired another 70 coins over the next 15 years and had nothing to do with them.So – This is the best overall solution that I found for a lot of coins. This unit seemed very comparable to the other $225 cases on Amazon and had good reviews, so I took a leap. I’m very glad I did.The inside is nice, and it came packaged VERY well. It even had at least 6 silica gel packets to make sure that no moisture built up. The removable shelves came in very handy since at least a few of my coins were simply too large to fit on the shelves. It would have been nice if the bottom shelf had just a quarter more of an inch for this eventuality, but that’s splitting hairs. Taking out the shelf one up from the bottom solved the problem and it looks professional.Mounting-wise it was fairly easy. There are three mounting brackets and we only used two of them (the one in the middle seems excessive… and I live where there are earthquakes). A funny thing that I noticed… when the case is empty, and the door is allowed to swing open, it will lift the case up at an angle, potentially allowing the case to fall off the single remaining mount and fall to the floor. Once the case is loaded – that’s not an issue anymore, but it scared me when it first started lifting on one side. I sincerely doubt having the third screw on the wall would have fixed that.The only other compliant I have is that the way that I had to mount this in my office – the side with the hinges is visible from the front door – and these are big, brass hinges. So the natural wood tones looks broken up by the great big brass hinges. It’s not optically pleasant. It would have been nicer if the hinges were subdued. Not a show stopper – but in my configuration, it’s not pretty. The people coming from the side door however are greeted with a very pleasing view of the inside of the case – so it all depends on where you mount it.All and all I am very pleased by this case and have already gotten comments on how nice it looks. I’ve been directing several people to Amazon for this exact one, so I’m kind of hoping there’s a finder’s fee in it for me down the road…

For the price I paid, this is amazing! Not only it is beautifully made it has also a glass cover. Perfection!!!

The case holds quite a few challenge coins, and shelves can be removed as needed if you have any extremely large or unusually shaped coins (I have a state of Texas shaped one that would never fit in any of my previous cases, but fits in this one). The material that the case is made out of is light and seems pretty sturdy.My only complaints would be that the 2 keys locks that the case have are pretty flimsy and can be flaky at times to unlock and lock. They use the same key style that comes with the tiny luggage pad locks. The second complaint, and this is a big on, is the manner in which it hangs. It has 3 sawtooth style brackets that you mount to the back and have to mount onto the wall. I'm thinking they provide these due to the amount of weight if the case is fully loaded with coins. The pain is having to line up and accurately space the 3 brackets so that they all line up correctly. I ended up just using one of the brackets and it is doing just fine, however the case is not currently fully loaded.I would still say this is a good value for the money though and looks great.

Needed to step up to a larger display and this one works perfect. Room to grab a few more coins before I am outta here!
