Amazing Quality and a Perfect Game for Families to Bond Over
This is honestly one of the best purchases I have made on Amazon, and that is saying a lot since I have made over 170 purchases in the last six months. The price was very very good. The quality is unquestionable. My family has spent hours playing this together, which is a miracle as it is almost impossible to get them all to sit down and do something together for any decent period of time. This is also one of the few games that allows enough players to accommodate the whole family (I have six kids). I also want to note the quality is superior to the standard Monopoly games. The houses and hotels are made from wood and the pawns (? the parts you move around the board) have a very solid, hefty feel to them. You can definitely tell the difference between this version and today's standard version and I enjoy things of a finer quality. Overall I think this is worth every penny. I would have paid twice as much and still be satisfied.

Monopoly - Celebrating 80 years of creating Tycoons!
We have had a monopoly game in our homes since my husband and I were just a wee lad and lass. The last remaining game of the Old Generation has had pieces & monopoly money added from other games. And while it is still in great shape, it was time to celebrate one of our families Favorite Games! Beautiful pewter-colored metal pieces, some are familiar others are new, or were removed from the game years ago and have returned for the 80t Anniversary! The houses and hotels are carved wood instead of the bright green & red hotels & houses. There are changes on the board as well. It was fun noticing the changes, and overall is an excellent addition to our 40 year old game!

Great Version of a Family Favorite
This is a great version of Monopoly! My family I love the variety of tokens---there's something for everyone. I wanted a more expensive, special version of the game, but I have kids that tend to lose the game pieces and money, so I decided to wait on that purchase and buy this one for the interim. I'm glad I did because this is a good quality version of the game for a very reasonable price. The houses and hotels are unpainted wood, but this is not a problem for us. The hotels are easily differentiated from the houses because of their size.An unexpected perk of the game was the organizational tray. My daughter keeps it set up & ready to go for our next family game.

I really like this because it has unique tokens
I was in the market for a new Monopoly because my old one was missing pieces so naturally I looked here on Amazon and saw this one. I really like this because it has unique tokens, not all the usual ones, these span across the decades. I like the overall style of this one and the tray that it comes with to hold all the money and properties is great. It's nice but wasn't so expensive that I don't mind playing it all the time. Worth it if your old one is getting worn out or missing pieces like mine was.

Just Llike I Remember 60+ Years Ago - Fun Game
This looks just like I remember it being when I was a child about 62 years ago. My wife is from the Philippines and never heard of it. I want to show her how to play this game. I wonder if they have an electronic version that keeps track of money. That would be very useful. I played it so much way back then that eventually I called it monotony. It seems like it takes hours and hours to ever finish a game. It's a game of chance with the dice but there is still plenty of personal judgment involved to win. And it is a great teaching method to managing and investing with lots of peril like in the real world. Life is not at all predictable.

It'll pass
This is a functioning product and will probably be just fine but like others I can't look past how many corners have been cut in quality and design. The board is flimsy and probably won't stay in one piece for very long. Certainly not like monopoly boards of the past. The propert cards are small and flimsy and designed so they are nearly impossible to read easily. Paper money still the same cheap stuff so that's fine. The pieces are nice though.

Not as nice as previous anniversary editions but great tokens in this set.
Hasbro has throttled back on the quality of this anniversary edition when compared to the previous 60th and 70th anniversary editions. I'll go over each part that comes with this game so you'll see what I mean:The game board returns to the pre-2008 redesign. Mediterranean and Baltic Avenues sport purple colors and the GO square has red lettering again. Also Community Chest bears the 1935's arrowhead symbol instead of the chest illustration. The whole board has unbleached paper coloring of tan with faded Monopoly symbols dotting the center part of the board. This board folds into quarter parts. It is thin and not durable at all.The Money is a single pack. It has been redesigned for this edition of the game. The new design is in black ink, no color was added. The Property cards still have the smaller shape that’s been found in resent Monopoly games over the last ten or so years. The back of each property card is colored to match the property it represents. The Chance and Community Chest cards are the same size as the Property cards, but these card have the original illustrations of Rich Uncle Pennybags (Mr. Monopoly) on each card. Hasbro stylized the art by giving it a "rubbed" or stressed-look. They also removed or blotted out any text from the original art. The card text appears to be updated to the post-2008 text in standard games: no poor tax, opera house, or Christmas reference. Hasbro has gone "politically correct" with these cards. Might offend the poor and those poor people who don't celebrate Christmas. ;)The dice have an ivory color but are very small. I have never seen such little dice in a Monopoly game. Included with the dice are the game's houses and hotels. These pieces are also undersized. The hotels are hard to differentiate from the houses. This is due in part to the fact that both houses and hotels are unpainted. It is nice that they are wooden like the original parts, though. The best part for me are these bronzed tokens. All are very nice and collectable. Some of the tokens are solid and have a heavy feel to them. This is the reason I purchased this product. I would give the whole game 5 stars if the retail price stayed below $15 dollars, but i paid over $20.The game comes with a fine set of instructions and the lower box has Monopoly history and highlights printed around it. I imagine this edition has value to collectors like myself, but if you want an older edition of Monopoly that is truer to the original printing of the game, then search for the 1935 Commemorative edition of Monopoly.
