The texture is grainy, like cornmeal and it has an exceptional flavor. Great for farofa!
I was so happy to find this product online, even better with Prime shipping, as opposed to other sites that ship from South America. I bought this product so that my Brazilian boyfriend could cook his favorite dishes from back home. At first, I tried buying "Americanized" casava flour from the local organic market (after searching and searching unsuccessfully in other stores). Apparently, it is not the same thing and it's too finely textured to make farofa. The Julia flour is exactly what we needed. The texture is grainy, like cornmeal and it has an exceptional flavor. The package comes with 2 bags, totaling 70.4oz.

This cassava flour makes gluten-free baking delicious!
I love baking gluten-free bread with this cassava flour! Every batch has been successful and delicious, which is more than I can say about many of the gluten-free flours I’ve used over the years. I definitely recommend this!

Good price not ground fine
Cassava flour should be light and dust. This product is course ground. I ran it through my VitMix and now it is very fine as it should be. If you have something that can grind grain and you don’t mind the extra step, this is a good value for the money. Also, it took longer than I expected to receive from this seller.

Perfect for Brazilian farofa
We use this to make the classic Brazilian farofa. Our seven grandchildren, who have Brazilian ancestry, love farofa, so we make it often. If you need a recipe, try Martha Stuart’s. It’s genuine. Just need to add a little olive oil prior to adding the cassava flour to the bacon and garlic mix. I tried it on my Brazilian sister-in-law, and she gave it a thumbs-up.

My Go-To Staple
I hesitate to write such a rave review of this flour, only because I don’t want it to be sold out and me have to be without it!! This is a staple in our house. Being gluten free, wheat free, all the free, this is the best cassava flour I’ve ever used. It’s taste is impeccable because unlike other cassava, this one actually has a taste! It’s grainier so it helps bond my breads together better. And it’s super inexpensive comparatively.Y’all just make sure you leave some for me.

Perfect for farofa
This is coarse-ground, unseasoned, white cassava/mandioca/yuca meal. It is exactly right for making your own farofa recipe.
