I am not a fan of the Fluval Chi aquarium, or fish in general, but that's a separate story. If you are stuck with having to buy these filters, this is a great price (I paid $6.99 for a 3-pack, it is selling for $7.06 as of this review) compared to your local pet store.If you have not yet invested in a Fluval aquarium (why would you be looking at the filters if you did not?), consider other options. Bigger, with better filtration. Mine is very hard to keep clean, especially from algae. The white side of the filter is completely green all over after 1-2 weeks, and I wash it 3-4 times before discarding and replacing with a fresh filters. I don't think the filter's job is to attract algae. With the limited and unwilling experience that I have had with fish, the filter should be pumping from the bottom where all the crud (and algae) settles, not from the top like Fluval Chi. If I were reviewing the aquarium, I would give it two stars -- one for holding the water in and one for the style. But since this is just for the filter, why not 4 stars for the great price.

Perfect for my nursery tank. Did add ammonia chips and pieces of filter sponge from the very well established 75 gallon tank to add that much needed bacteria to cycle the tank.
