I was told that these lemon drops must be put in water in a glass or metal container, not in plastic; because it absorbs toxins from plastic?

I don't think it's that the oils absorb toxins...it's more that the oils break down plastics. So a plastic cup will get cloudy and deteriorate over time. And I believe that is the case for most oils, not just lemon. For any you ingest, use glass or metal for drinking.
