WellerStandard Solder Tip Replacement, 5.5mm, for D550/D650 Solder Guns, 2 per Pack - 7250W

I was worried these might be low quality given that they were the "less expensive" version. However, they were correct, they fit my 250W Big Old Bertha Weller soldering gun perfectly. It has always been almost impossible to get the ends bent correctly so the tip comes out straight- I recommend putting a sharpie mark on each leg about 3/8" or so from the end so you have a reference. (without it, once one side is bent it's hard to judge where to bend the second to get a good match.) AND of course, put the boots on =before= you bend them ;^) If you try to straighten them back out they will break off, now you have a shorty tip. Most interesting thing was watching the entire thin silver colored plating instantly flash into a gray colored bubbled mess when I pulled the trigger the first time. But, I did not expect it to stay pretty, and it sure works great. Glad I got them.

They hold up well they're not too thick to cool down the temperature of the tips yet I have used them for quite some time now for many different projects and they actually last longer than the original that came with my solder gun hundred Watt. Use it often outside for things like soldering trailer harnesses which requires extra heat on cold days so always using high temp setting on soldering gun and still holds up well..

The other reviews saying that you only have to grind the leads to fit this on my 8200 are wrong. You also have to bend the leads together some to fit it in the sockets. Lots of work to get them to fit. Also, the tip is bigger so it takes longer for it to heat up. But it does work on my 8200.

Don't fit my 8200 but I drilled out the mounting holes to make them fit. Maybe they will last longer since they are thicker.
