Perfect, easy ice cubes. Worth the price!
Have only used a few times so far, but the release lever was silky smooth, better even that the metal trays of 60 years ago! I fill the tray 7/8 full, and when it's frozen, then either let it sit out a few seconds, or quickly run water over the tray and shake off the drops. It releases WHOLE cubes, though I wouldn't mind if there were cracked ice slivers, too.Plastic trays are awful and most break quickly. Silicon trays, even with filtered water, caused tiny bits of whitish material in the ice. Yuck--would never risk silicon again! My kitchen appliances aren't fancy or pricey, but this tray made good sense.

Pricey, but exceptional quality
These trays are pricey but I've been trying to eliminate plastic and they're the best quality metal ones I could find. They work great, make ice taste better, and work great. The only trick is to leave them sitting out for a couple minutes before throwing the lever so that the cubes pop free instead of being crushed. They freeze faster than the plastic ones do too, so that's an extra benefit. I do wish they were a touch deeper but that might keep them from fitting in some applications so I understand why they did it.

Love it!
We have loved using this ice cube tray. My one tip is to it fill to the brim as it makes removal mote difficult. But I love not using plastic for my ice cube trays- great material.

It's the nature of these things
This is stainless steel and using it for a few months I've been satisfied with the build quality. It's very easy to fill and clean between uses. I think the ice tastes great, better than any I've used with plastic ice trays in the past, but I am now using filtered water to fill this whereas I was using tap water previously. My issue with this is how difficult it can be to remove ice. We had a brutal summer and it seemed somewhat easier to remove during those months, but even then we did have some issues. It's becoming more apparent now in colder weather even as I allow for more time for the ice to sit before attempting to crack. First, sometimes the ice or ice chips fly out when cracking them open - while so far none has come near my face I've developed a habit of looking away and trying to close my eyes as I think it's a real possibility a piece of ice could make its way to my eye area.No matter how long I let the ice sit, or try gimmicks like running water on the bottom part of the tray before removal, often times the ice splits into pieces upon removal. Very often the ice cubes stick to the cutters and don't fall out very easily, requiring you to use your fingers to attempt to break them lose, and again, often times they wind up splitting during this process. I've never gotten all ice cubes out perfectly in the four months or so that I've had it.I still enjoy this product for what it is, but from what I've seen all of these stainless steel trays suffer from this fate so I don't want to knock this product too much. Perhaps the cutters could be sharper, perhaps they are losing their sharpness fast, I'm not sure, but I would still recommend this product to someone looking for an ice tray as I feel it still offers a superior experience compared to plastic or silicone.

Dysfuntional Design
This ice cube tray is a piece of dysfunctional garbage. Why? Because the cracking lever does not work properly. Even if it did there is a design flaw that I believe may make the tray unpleasant to use. Let me explain. In theory, when you pull up on the lever, it is supposed to shift the dividers in the tray enough so that they crack the ice. The problem is that one must push down on the tray with one hand as they pull on the lever with the other. If you look at the picture, you’ll notice that the only place one has to push down on is directly over the ice and, consequently, over those metal dividers. These dividers dig into the hand and cause a great deal of discomfort. Granted, the force I’m putting on the lever and my stabilizing hand is probably significantly greater than the designers intended, but that brings me to my next point. The real issue with this product is that the cracking mechanism simply does not work. As I touched on above, it takes an extreme amount of force applied to the lever to break the ice. I am a 27 year old male of average strength, and I have to really crank on the mechanism to get the ice to break. So much so that 3/4 of the ice usually ends up scattered across the floor and counter top.I have tried everything from adjusting the amount of water I freeze in the tray to running it under warm water before I crack the ice. Nothing seems to help.I was very excited at the prospect of throwing out my toxic plastic ice trays, but unfortunately it looks like I’m stuck with them for now. I don’t know why my experience is so different from others' here on Amazon, but I urge you to look elsewhere for your next ice cube tray.

RSVP Endurance Ice Cube Trays do NOT endure performance in under one year.
This product was purchased less than a year ago and the stainless steel lever consistenty now slips out of the bracket that allows the arm to return to a flat position after refilling with water. I do not see a contact number for RSVP to see if they can be helpful with a replacement unit. I purchased two trays and one does not work well at all. Does not seem like this China company wants to really offer help or assistance to customers. At $16 each for the trays, I would have hoped they will have a longer working performance without having handle issues. Very disappointed, especially since "googling" contact info is hard to find that is helpful with a customer service number or email address. Beware...if you buy these
