Elegant design, effective, and sharp.
This has been my fourth nail clipper in recent months after searching for a replacement (ranging from $7 to $25), and I've found this model to be by far the best. It has an elegant design that maximizes leverage and therefore requires little pressure to operate, yet cuts sharply and cleanly. This is the result of good quality steel with high quality control, as well as the fact that it has by far the widest mouth of any clippers I've seen. I'm referring not to how wide the jaws open, but to how wide the jaws are side to side. This makes this design ideal for any adult with normal sized fingernails. Typical designs are not as wide, so most people will not end up with smooth edges along the entire length of the nails. Of note, this Niegeloh model is identical to Germanikure...that's just brand naming. So there's no need to pay an extra $10 for the Germanikure brand.

EVEN CUTS EFFORTLESSLY THROUGH THICK, STRONG NAILS SAFELY!
WOW - excellent! Can even cut through thick, strong nails easily!!! I received the large Topinox Clipper as described (was a bit concerned after reading some people received smaller size instead). Even though the package says "toe nail clippers" I bought it for an older relative who has large hands & big thick fingernails. He couldn't use regular scissors to cut his fingernails, tried various other store-bought toenail clippers which were not strong enough to safely/easily cut through his nails, and I felt the scissor like nippers were too dangerous unless someone had a very steady hand - which he does not. (He goes to podiatrist for his toenails!) Went through loads of reviews for various clippers and ordered these (plus 1 other which I am promptly returning). These Topinox clippers rock! They have a large opening to fit larger/thicker nails (unlike Seki Edge toenail clippers for example, which are great for thinner nails like mine). The Topinox is super precise/easy cutting - and so easy to operate. He is SO happy to be able to safely take care of his own fingernails (and so am I!)

Blade opening is very small, cracked at rivet.
After 3 months and using it twice noticed that there is a crack from the rivet to the side of the "body" of the clipper. Also be warned that the blades open less than 1/16 of an inch (0.052"), I have nails thicker than that. Useless for their intended purpose. Going to find a home in my fishing tackle box and repurposed to trim small fishing line.

Good quality
Great quality and nicely designed German nail clipper. I bought this a few years ago and it is still going strong. The finish is really good with this steel so buy with confidence.

Greatest Clippers Ever
My wife got this for me as a Birthday gift. I had seen them being manufactured on a TV show and really liked it's features. I have had many nail clippers in the past and after a short period of time I would begin finding them in 3 pieces in my pocket. I would have to gather the pieces and put the item back together. They also were very prone to losing their sharpness quite rapidly. Now that I have the Topinox it has remained sharp and has never come apart. I truly enjoy using them as it takes a lot less effort when I have occasion to need them. If I ever lose mine I will order a new pair. I am even going to order the larger ones designed for the toes very soon. If you want the Cadillac of clippers, get yourself one of these.

This one must have been manufactured on Monday
I purchased this immediately after seeing how they were manufactured on a "How its Made" TV documentary. I was expecting incredible things, even though it was a little pricy for a common ordinary item. The documentary promised great things and I was looking forward to using this precision instrument. Things started out well. It was delivery quickly. It looked and felt great. But when I used it, instead of a clean cut, it tore the nail like a worn-out $1.00 cheap-o from the drugstore. Looking closer at the cutting edge, I saw the problem; the cutting edges were not closing together vertically and were slightly offset laterally. Not the precision instrument the documentary lead me to expect. Better to buy the cheap-o's, IMHO.

I tried to like these, but they aren't worth the price.
These are well designed, perfectly finished nail clippers---They just don't work. The bottom "tooth" that is supposed to go under your nail is so wide at its face that you have to work it under your nail before you can clip the nail. This is tedious. The pressure required to keep the tool under your nail limits your ability to cut the nail precisely where you want. That might be acceptable if the clippers cut well, but they don't do that either. When you finally get the tool under your nail and wedged in place there is no satisfying snap of a cleanly cut nail. The clipper's teeth look very sharp but they smash and tear the nail anyway. These clippers turn a 5 minute job into a 20 minute struggle that demands a nail file afterwards.I would not recommend these clippers if they were priced in line with many other clippers on Amazon. At 3 times the price, stay away for sure. Before I wrote this review, I tried to contact the manufacturer via their Contact Us form online. I never received any kind of reply. Be warned, Niegeloh does not appear to stand behind this product.
