Eastwood Ratcheting Serpentine Belt Wrench Tool Belt Remove and Install Kit Automotive Repair Kit Socket

I was a bit concerned about the strength of this style tool for removing the serpentine belt on my 2007 DTS. Several reviews on other similar tools (offered by other sellers) showed pictures of them breaking during the process of removing their serpentine belt. However, I didn't see any pictures of broken tools in the reviews for this particular tool, so I decided to give it a try. It worked fine. It seems reasonably heavy duty and I would not be concerned about using it again, if the need arose.

Worth it for a belt change on these front wheel, so tight of space you can't get real tools for normal jobs, into the space to do the job! They knew what they were doing when they built them.. Make it harder and they will have to take it to a mechanic! This tool makes it doable!

Quality was there and the price was on point great product for what it's worth maybe we'll only use it once but nice to have in the arsenal

Can't believe I lived without this tool for 40 yrs. Man it makes things easy in a tight space. Tool handle also assisted in pushing the belt over the crank pully from up top. Already used on a 2004 Grand Cherokee v8, 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe v6, and a 2007 Saturn Ion 4cyl. Included sockets I didn't bother with - they were tossed in the spare tool drawer.***UPDATE 2.6.2023*** So I had a bit of an issue with a 2005 Chevy Cobalt 2.2, which is interesting because it is essentially the exact same car as the 2007 Saturn mentioned above. Since the head does not ratchet and only has the fixed 3/8" square drive (which is the only requirement for this, and lots of cars with a square hole in the tensioner arm to accept) you are limited to connecting only at 90 degree angles. I could engage up, but I didn't not have enough travel before the tool was hitting the cowl. I could not engage down, because the tool was on the upper rad support before engagement. Since the 2nd shorter extension piece included in this tool set has a star pattern, it allows engagement every 45 degrees which would have solved the problem. That was when I noticed the drive on that piece is 1/2", not the 3/8" that I needed. I really can't fault the tool - it really can't apply to ALL applications, but I really wish they included 2 short pieces, a 3/8" and a 1/2". Since I don't come across many 1/2" tensioners holes, I think I will death wheel off the 1/2" and weld in place a scavenged 3/8" drive from a cheap old ratchet. In this case, I ended up removing the passenger side motor mount and jacking the engine up so I could engage the 3/8" hole without hitting the rad support. Again - this isn't the tool's fault. I never noticed the 1/2" square, and again it really can't cover all applications. So my rating remains 5 stars, but it is something to consider when purchasing!

I needed a tool to help me get my tensioner pully loose that was in a hard to reach spot. Order this, received it a few days later, used it and it worked perfect. On my truck all you need is the long tool without any sockets. Just pops right on, pull it to relieve tension and that's it.

The product worked fine, that's NOT the problem. I looked in Answers and Questions..to be sure it came with a carry case....there it said YES it does.......well...that was a lie...It does NOT come with carry case.That said...the exact set is sold at Harbor Freight for cheaper and is the EXACT same thing without the carry case...I would have ordered from them instead...but I didn't cuz I wanted the set in a carry case. so I was willin' to spend a bit more to get one in carry case....my fault for believing what was written I guess?
