Works like a charm- I am HAPPY I bought it.
Outstanding! Made perfect rice with wonderful tahdig. I've made Persian rice since the '70s and never satisfied with crunch in the oven or on the stove, this works exactly as you would want. I read many of the comments and all were helpful, some suggested trial and error, but I had guests for dinner, so I used 5 of the "cups" per the one provided( I bought the 7 cup), washed the rice throughly, soaked it one hour then added the chopped dried apricots and chopped dried sour cherries, 2 tsp salt. Into the pot I put 1/2C ghee, and the suggested amount of water. Turned the dial to 60 minutes and waited until it just came to a boil, added all the rice and fruit, used a coffee mug to compress the rice, turned the dial back to 60, the keep warm 45 minutes. Came out of the pot perfectly, no sticking at all, and perfect dark gold crunchy tahdig. I'm thrilled with this no hassle and dependable cooker for Persian rice. Also happy that it cooked the jeweled rice so that now I know I can't any version I like. The 5 "cups" made plenty for a party of 6 big eaters, so I see no problem with the cup measure that is included with the cooker-a lot of people complained, but, I don't get why, just add one extra of their cups and you'll be fine.BTW- I saw a lot of folks wanting to know about brown Basmati rice, so here's a tip: Wash the brown rice well and soak in plenty of water over night, drain and continue as for white rice, the timing will work for the soaked brown rice with the same timing as white rice, this goes for brown Jasmine rice too, I have no idea if it would work for regular brown rice, never tried it, rarely use it.

Gain all the weight you want!
I hate this rice cooker. It makes the most delicious rice, and perfect tahdig that I’ve been eating it 2-3 times a day. I’m now in the third week of ownership and gained 7 pounds thanks to this machine! Thanks Pars for creating the best rice cooker on the planet and now I’m gaining all the weight I lost last year! :(

Perfect potato tahdig every time
We have the 15-cup version. The pic attached is our favorite tahdig recipe so far - potato tahdig. The family absolutely loves it! Unfortunately, the instructions do not detail a 2-cup recipe. So, here is the perfect potato tahdig recipe for 2-3 people:Note: I am using Persian standard cups (180 ML) rather than American standard cups (240 ML)- Coat rice cooker with vegetable oil (or canola)- Layer 1/4" Yukon gold potatoe slices on the bottom and sides (you can experiment with slice widths)- Rinse and drain 2 cups jasmine rice until water is clear- Add 80 ML of vegetable oil (or canola), 1 cup of water, and 1.5 tsp of sea salt to rice and mix very well (I use a mixing bowl)- Gently pour rice mixture over potatoes- Add 1.5 cups of water (this brings the total water amount to 2.5 cups) to rice cooker and gently smooth out rice being very careful not to disturb the potatoes- Cover top of cooker with kitchen towel or paper towels and then cover with lid- Set for 60 minutes and forget about it until done- Optional: Bloom 0.5-1 tsp of ground saffron (or a few saffron strands) with 2 tablespoons of hot melted butter (or hot water) and pour over rice after 30-45 minutes- Immediately remove after cooking time and flip over on a serving dish

Highly disappointed with durability
I purchased the Pars Rice Cooker in April 2022 with high hopes, given its positive reviews and attractive features. Initially, the rice cooker performed well, cooking rice evenly and quickly, with convenient settings for different types of rice and a useful keep-warm function. However, my experience took a downturn when the cooker stopped working two years after purchase. Here are the main issues I encountered:1. **Durability**: For a kitchen appliance expected to last several years, the fact that it stopped working within 24 months is highly disappointing. I used it regularly but not excessively, and I always followed the manufacturer’s instructions for care and maintenance.2. **Performance Decline**: In the months leading up to its failure, I noticed the rice cooker became less efficient. The rice was often unevenly cooked, with some parts undercooked while others were mushy. The keep-warm function also started to malfunction, causing rice to dry out.3. **Value for Money**: Given the price point of this rice cooker, I expected a higher level of durability and customer support. Investing in a product that fails so soon feels like a waste of money. While the rice cooker had some good features and performed well initially, its lack of durability and poor customer service experience make it difficult to recommend. I would advise potential buyers to consider other options, especially if you’re looking for a long-lasting and reliable rice cooker.
