Bumble Bee White Flake Crab Meat - Great for Quick & Easy Patties
Since it is pre-flaked, Bumble Bee White Flake Crab Meat in Water works great in quick and easy crab patties and other recipes. Tastes great, is easy to use, and a good value, the can arrived in date and in very good condition. I would definitely purchase this crab meat again; five stars from me.

Would NOT buy again
We purchased these to make crab cakes, but unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. As soon as we opened the can, it had a strong, unpleasant smell—similar to an uncleaned saltwater aquarium or stale seawater. The texture of the crab meat was both mushy and grainy, which was very off-putting. As for the taste, it mirrored the smell—like dirty saltwater or a poorly maintained fish tank.Overall, this was one of the most unpleasant experiences I’ve had with crab meat. I would not purchase this product again.

Crab soup made with this crab meat was wonderful.
I didn't like the large amount of meat in our soup from the l lb. can of meat my husband was finding in the refrigerator section in brick and mortar store. This small can of meat made a really good crab soup for this land person anyway. My husband is a east coast person and he like it too. Might be because we have a good recipe made with a can of celery soup, small carton of cream, Tablespoon of Old bay, small amount of Worcestershire powder & onion powder, butter product, this small can of crab meat was perfect. I haven't finish my mug of soup yet, but no shell or grit yet knock on wood. The grit and shell was on the bottom of my mug, but not a lot just wouldn't eat that part next time, quite a bit of crab meat bottom of my mug too. Weird texture but still good flavor. No fishy smell. Our very first time to try cream of crab of soup we tried a can of lump crab and it had a lot of fishy smell. 2nd try to make cream of crab soup we tried claw meat it had no fishy smell. This is our 3rd can and third time to try cream of crab soup. Again no fishy smell. Overall this is my preference because I like a lot of cream of soup with just a little bit of crab meat, lol.

Pretty good, surprisingly
Have to be honest I was not expecting much from canned crab. I’m originally from the northeast coast of the US and had access to fresh crabs before I moved outside Atl GA, so prepackaged isn’t the same experience and this was canned like tuna so my expectations were even lower. I was pleasantly surprised. It is minced up very finely which kind of reminded me of cat food but I soaked it in a sieve in ice cold water then pressed it down with my hand then a paper towel to get the excess moisture out. Used it in some crab cakes and while the texture wasn’t there (no lumps of crab meat) the taste was shockingly similar. I ordered this because I have been avoiding grocery shopping and we don’t have grocery delivery where I am now but I will likely use this again even when I can shop again without worrying about infecting my high risk kid. I don’t know how it would do in a crap dip but for crab cakes it worked great.

I made crab cakes, and this worked
This was fine. I soaked it in milk for 20 minutes and drained it to make the crab taste fresh.

WRONG! WRONG! WEIRD!!
I bought this out of curiosity mostly, how it looked and how it would taste. I was surprised (not happily) just surprised. After draining the water out of the can the crab only made out about 1/4 of the can. The texture of the meat was another surprise in it of itself. The only description that even comes close is A.C.C.( already chewed crab). There was little to no flavor and if the label on the can didn't say what it was, you couldn't tell what meat you were eating. All in all I would not recommend or buying EVER again. The experience was disappointing and a bit confusing.

Inconsistent quality
Unfortunately you never really know what you’re getting when you buy this, which is disappointing. It is possible to get good, flaky crab meat with no detritus in the can. But seemingly more often than not, you get shell fragments and mushy crab meat, or some degree of those.I’ve usually make dips and cakes with this and inspect for shell fragments as I mix the cans. I try to choose cans based on the can codes to get a variety of sources if available.
