A must have for around the house / Grinding or Wire Wheel
I do autobody work for a living (30+years). If you are going to use a grinder every day I suggest pneumatic tools. Yes, with everyday use electronic tools will wear out quicker than pneumatic tools because they are subject to more heat and have sealed bearings. With pneumatic tools not only does the air keep them cool but you can oil them before use, as you should. If you dont have a compressor then this is a good grinder to use because of a few reasons. I purchased this for grinding welds as I can put more pressure on it without it slowing down like pneumatic grinders do. Electric grinders offer a constant speed to get a more accurate finish, and this is importand for grinding welds that will not be covered with a filler or seam sealer. But before I brought it to my shop I used it at home for a few things. I am so happy with it Im thinking of getting another one so I can keep it at home for small projects. I dont have to run my compressor at home to grind anymore. I purchased a Dewalt wire wheel (3 different types) so I can use this to remove rust on outside furniture, lawn equipment or just about anything. It does even a nicer job with a wire wheel for removing rust. The paddle switich is the safest way to go and its not to large of a grinder so you can maneuver it around small spaces. It is a small price to pay for much satisfaction. This tool does a real nice job and I would recomend it to anyone.

Worked as expected
I had never used a grinder before, but this tool was very easy to use and did a great job. I was taking up all of the old tile flooring in my kitchen and side room (about 220 sq ft) with lots of mortar left on the sub floors. This tool made the job so much faster, but I would highly suggest getting the dust collection system that they sell because that made a world of difference. I am pretty handy and so most of my own home repairs, but this tool way new to me. The instructions were easy to follow and I felt safe using the tool after only a few minutes of learning. Just a word to caution, make sure you have a feel for how powerful it is prior to putting it on the surface you are working on.

Just perfect for me
I was a long-time user of the Milwaukee 6148-6 grinder for work, until some idiot decided to change the design. Well, I have gone through all my Milwaukee grinders and have been searching for a replacement. I have been through every name brand grinder, but none of them had the perfect balance in my hand like the Milwaukee. That is until I bought this grinder. It is a perfect balance for one handed cutting.I read several reviews that complained that the grinder didn't last. I have been using the grinder for about three weeks without a problem. I install manufactured stone and use a diamond blade on the grinder. On an average day I probably make 50 - 100 cuts and haven't had a problem so far. I will update if anything changes.Update I have been using this angle grinder for 7 months and it's still working great. Some of the guys that work for me have also switched to this grinder and they love it.New update July 2022 the grinder is dead. Purchased in 2018 and got 4 years of daily use from a $69 grinder. Lasted twice as long as my Milwaukee grinders. I am replacing with the same exact grinder.

Great little grinder, just don't buy from CPO Makita
This paddle switch grinder is a step up from the cheap ones you will find at places like Home Depot. It has enough power and is easy to use. Our company goes through a lot of grinders, as we work on concrete only where they take a beating and suffer under the conditions. This grinder is better than most, while affordably priced. The metal case is cool, too.On a side note, DO NOT buy any equipment here from "CPO Makita", as they are nothing but a bunch of crooked re-sellers pushing defective equipment that they refuse to return or replace. Buyer beware - they stole from me with no remorse whatsoever, and they managed to keep my feedback off the web page, thus this oddly placed warning! Please be careful. I've never had a problem with items purchased directly from Amazon!

Makita is the best
I own three of these. I started using one with a flap disc on it. Then my Dewalt grinder died and I replaced it with another one of these Makitas. I got a Harbor Freight grinder to save a little money and put a wire wheel on it and it lasted a week. (Fabrication is easier if your not having to change out the wheels every time and just have a grinder for that task- cutting/grinding/flap disk/wire wheel. Went through another burned out HF grinder and got a Milwaukee. That one died and have now just purchased another Makita and might be the last grinder I ever need to purchase since the other Makitas outlasted several of these other brands by many years. I have gone to an all Makita ecosystem now with most of my electric and battery operated tools as they still seem to be the best made tools since I started using them 30 years ago.

Great grinders
Works good. Alot faster and beefier than a cordless grinder. I use it to remove bulk material and for longer run times rather than just burning through batteries constantly. Feels just like the old style ones, you definitely feel the power with these. No regrets buying name brand here
