Informative and Fun
My nine year old daughter wants to be a Spy and she has read this book like it's the bible of spying. She believes in the oath and is absorbing every word. I have learned a lot about our government organizations, too! It's been a great experience reading it together.

How to be an International Spy is an exceptional book that will not only grip young readers with interest but adults too!
Ingenious, witty, clever, and sensational, How to be an International Spy is an exceptional book that will not only grip young readers with interest but adults too!___________________________________________WHAT I LIKED:+ How to be an International Spy is an incredibly well written and structured book. Not only does it brim with inside information on secret intelligence and agent related skills, but by offering tips and insight into the lives of legitimate spies and undercover agents such as Edward Snowden, Ian Lancaster Fleming, Larry Wu-Tai Chin, and Andree Peel aka Agent Rose (to name a few) it is a book that will provoke a sense of thrill and intrigue!+ Owing to the extensive research and presentation of the book, How to be an International Spy is a highly engaging book as it is full of mysterious intrigue and conspiracy. Too, it is jam-packed with unique illustrations and real-life photos that will help make complex topics and subjects a bit more alluring and comprehensible See Pictures Here+ Furthermore, How to be an International Spy will introduce young readers to a new collection of words and interests by beckoning them to engage in real spy activities such as establishing security measures within their domains, creating code names, working with hidden messages and invisible ink, and providing helpful tips to boost photographic memory, track trails, and become more aware of their surroundings+ How to be an International Spy not only touches on historical types of espionage, but it taps into modern-day gadgets and gizmos readers will be able to identify such as drones, the internet, military gear (thermal goggles, night vision goggles), stealth aircrafts, audio surveillance, heat paint, digital license plates ― I admit that the most distressing part about reading this section, in particular, was the realization that we truly have no privacy and that George Orwell predicted it right; Big Brother is watching, and this is precisely why my son and I both enjoyed this book so much, it woke us up from a sense of complacency so to speakWHAT I DIDN’T LIKED:I had no quibbles with this book, all the historical subjects, even the sensitive topics were presented with young readers in mind ― we thoroughly enjoyed it!AFTERTHOUGHTS:I shared this book with my oldest son and not only did it pique his interest, but he begged me to watch documentaries with him. Suffice it to say, we have turned this nifty book into a sort of homeschool curriculum by researching and studying espionage from Biblical history (Moses and his spies, Joshua and Caleb), William Shakespeare who was a spy for England, and the Rosenberg’s too! I highly recommend this book to all those who hold an enthusiasm for spycraftFull Review: http://www.mysoulcalledlife.com/2015/10/26/sparrows-book-review-how-to-be-an-international-spy-by-lonely-planet-kids/

Get ready to become a SPY! Awesome read.
My goodness what a wonderful book, how to become an international spy. This book had all the bells and whistles, from the history of spies and I mean real honest to goodness, 'spies.' Can you believe it, spying comes from around 1274 B.C.? Spies in the bible? Yep, Moses sending out spies to check the land ahead. Don't believe me? Read the book. You will meet real spies you know secret agents risking their lives, some faced the firing squad, executed. The Great War, World War II, Cold War, spying ran rampant with ingenious ways of sending secret communications. Can you believe slogans & posters were printed with the importance of keeping secrets, one poster said, "Loose Lips Sink Ships." All kinds of Intelligence types, from Human Intelligence-personal contacts, Signal Intelligence-phone calls, electronic, satellite radio communications, Geospatial Intelligence-aerial drones, satellite images. Well there's more but I'm afraid I had to stop because if I kept writing down all the Intelligences my fingers will cramp up. C.I.A., F.B.I., D.I.A., O.S.S., N.S.A., okay what's up with the acronyms. There's seventeen Intelligence gathering agencies in the U.S. (okay I got U.S.) Would you rather say, "Central Intelligence Agency?" What skills you can develop to become the ultimate spy? Tailing people? Puzzle-solver? That's a fraction of it. Allied countries information is shared, cipher, codes and the art of hiding messages. Another part I found interesting and fun, 'tracking.' footprint signs, fingerprints, forensics, scent trails. Oh you can mask your scent from sniffer dogs, want to know how? Read the book. Oh another thing, Mind-Bending Encryption, encrypt a message by using a secret key. Simple substitution cipher replace a letter with a number. What? Read the book. Polybius Code? Decrypt double-coded message, huh? Using lemon juice and grape juice to write and retrieve the message, you know what I'm going to say, right? I thoroughly enjoyed this well written book with oodles of information. It caused my mind to wander and vastly imagine what if? Children will absorb every single word and detail this book has to offer. Especially the parts where it shows you how to make a Periscope and A Finger Printing Kit and a Night Vision Light. A fun, fantastic read to entertain your mind. I received a free book through Mother Daughter Book Review in exchange for a review. Thank you, Darlene Cruz
