They're growing!
I was nervous making this purchased because of the reviews. I decided it's not a lot of money to risk. I decided to plant in eggshells because I read hibiscus like being snug. I used perlite 50-50 soil. Did not nick the seed or soak (which I should have). Used damp but not wet soil and poked my finger gently, dropped 2 seeds, then lightly covered with soil but no pressing. For daily water I was using a mister. The next day after planting the soil was dry on top, so I gave these a good mist. The second day after planting the soil was moist, so no watering. The third day we had a sprout! The photo is from the fourth day, four sprouts! If review updates are permitted I will add photos over time. I have 12 eggshells total with 2 seeds in each, but I think 3 seeds in 2 or 3 shells, so we got 27 total seeds. So far, I am satisfied.

So beautiful
The hibiscus was quite a surprise. I thought that maybe some birds had brought me seeds from some tree as I had eight or nine fast growing saplings out of a fairly small pot. Then out of nowhere these spectacular flowers bloomed!

Bummer
They never even sprouted! I followed directions and I tried twice and they never sprouted.

Not many sprouted.
Out of 20 seeds, only about 5 sprouted. Crossing my fingers that they will survive.Edit, less than 2 survived. Will initiate a refund and send back seeds in dirt I guess.

I planted these last spring.
I planted these last spring. Some grew to a nice size, but haven't bloomed yet. I'm wondering if they will be hardy in the pots outdoors this winter in N. Texas.

Week one: 1 out of 10 seeds has sprouted
*** I planted these a week ago and so far 1 has sprouted. While $1/seed is pretty steep IMO, if that one seed grows into a plant that produces flowers that like look like the picture, I'll be very happy with the purchase.*** I'm giving 5 stars because so far everything is as promised. I didn't expect all 10 seeds to sprout, but I was hoping the majority would. If nothing results, then I've lived and learned; I don't expect any guarantees with seeds. I would have preferred a live root plant, but that was not available.*** I will update later (much later) when there's been more progress. The seeds arrived rather quickly, safe and sound in an envelope via USPS snail-mail.

Won't germinate/grow.
For 2 years now I haven't got any to come up (germinate) not even in my little greenhouses with growing light. Other versions of hibiscus did good,,but not these.
