easy to use
THAT IS A HITCH!. This thing is versatile, strong as heck, easy to use, and very very suitable for anyone that is towing often. This company also has a spring loaded version that isolates trailer vibration from the tow vehicle. Had I seen that one, it is likely what I would have ordered it, but at $220 this is a phenomenal hitch insert and I would recommend it to anyone who has multiple trailers to tow. IF you only have one trailer, and only expect to tow that one trailer, I strongly recommend against it. There are other hitches that are much cheaper and lighter for those folks.By the way, this was so heavy our mail lady came to the office door and asked someone to carry it in for her. I'm guessing the package at around 50pds.

Worth the money
I read reviews on everything i buy. Sometimes i find reviews on other sites , but come back to amazon for the best price. That being said, i researched this style of hitch . I have an adjustable aluminum one, but i needed a pintle set up so i figured i would swap it out with this one. This is solid, I almost bought the larger 2.5 because i have the hitch that can accept both sizes . This one is solid and worth every cent. It may seem pricey, but its worth it. Someone wrote a 4 star reveiw and complained of paint chipping and causing rust. Also read there is movement of pintle set up when towing. Ok so theres movement, it probably was an empty trailer, bouncing around. I tow a small 4000lb machine and once i put the load on, there wasnt any movement. The chipping of paint, cant help you there, that is correct. I have owned trucks for many years and towed all types. Every set up i have every had scratches, oxidizes, etc. Even the aluminum setup has steel balls. I spray mine with Rust inhibitor every once and while to slow the process. Or when im done i spray WD-40 over it to coat it. Its gonna happen so deal with it , dont complain, because nobody listening ! Great product !!

allows me to be able to tow more than just a 2" ball like my previous drop hitch
This thing is OUTSTANDING fits tight so no wobble, allows me to be able to tow more than just a 2" ball like my previous drop hitch. With this you can also use any regular hitch to add onto it if needed for example I put my bike rack on the top hole and my basket for my cooler underneath that. The only part that sucks is the damage it did to my wallet.

High Quality, heavy duty hitch/ball mount.
Absolutely incredible quality. Yes, I would buy this again and again, but you'll only ever need to buy it once (unless you get crazy and don't keep it locked.) It is machined from a solid piece of steel. If you are on the fence between this and the Andersen, get the Gen-Y. Yes, it is about 30% more, but it is 100% refurbishable (i.e.: can be scuffed and re-painted where the trailer tongue wears the paint off the ball)...where as the aluminum can't and will continue to oxidize. This thing will hang out of the back of the receiver some but there's a plus side to that- I have taken note of the idiots driving behind me that will notice the hitch hanging out and back off and/or go somewhere else...Bottom line- you will not have buyer's remorse with this thing. It will be the last ball mount you'll buy. It IS very heavy but changing the ball height is fairly easy and painless.

I have seven different trailers with 2, 2 5/16th ...
I have seven different trailers with 2, 2 5/16th, pintle, and also pull some farm equipment with a draw bar from time to time. On my 4x2 Ford Superduty I have this unit facing upside down from the picture to get some lift of the trailer tongues and there is still two inches of clearance to open the tailgate. This is one heavy duty piece of solid steel on the pintle lock, the 2 and 2 5/16 drawbar, and the four position drawbar itself. The 1 7/8th bolt on part is a little bit on the light duty I considered not attaching, but never know when someone might need a jet ski moved or something. Only improvement I would say could be to have a matched key three set of locking drawbar pins for added security.

Heavy duty
This is one of the heaviest hitches I’ve seen. At 50 lbs don’t drop it on your toe! Haven’t used heavy loads, but what I have used it on, it’s sturdy, rugged, and plus HIGHLY ADAPTABLE!

Doesn't fit all standard 2" accessories - Update, they now know about this
The media could not be loaded. Update: called Gen-y, they're awesome. They have become aware of this situation where tolerances are a little too tight. They asked for my photos/video to make a change in their manufacturing process and once all my accessories come in they will consider what course of action to take.It doesn't fit all of my 2" accessories that fit my factory receiver. In the factory receiver they all have some slop to them but I currently can't fit my step into this drop hitch receiver. Before forcing it in, it fits about 1/8 of an inch. After having kicked it in, it now goes in about an inch without much protest. Then the inside of this gen-y receiver is all scraped up and the paint is nearly scraped off. If I do that enough times then maybe I'll be able to get everything to fit.... As it is right now, the corners are less than 2 inches compared to the middle and that's where it seizes up. My folding cargo tray fits but is quite a bit more snug on this gen-y drop hitch than the factory receiver or the receiver on my swinging adapter. I am concerned about being able to fit other accessories.Other than that, it's super beefy and pretty awesome. Description says it accepts ANY 2" accessory.
