Click it in hard
Lost it first ride around the Fullerton Loop. Was returned to me by a guy that saw me drop it. Seemed cool but wish it held better. It stays if I really push it in.

No cage
It’s tough to put the bottle back on the fly but if you’re stopped it’s fine

Both Versions
Nice water bottle. I ordered two 750ml clear/blue water bottles, but I didn't receive two identical bottles, I can say with confidence that the increased flow nozzle is a great improvement since they sent me the older model to compare it with...3 stars for the incorrect product. Other than that, great bottle. Will update when I test it out on mountain trails. It's definitely not secure enough for the rough stuff though.Update: Bottle flew off at first root on the trail while mountain biking, as expected...

Fine for Greenways but not serious mountain biking
I had high hopes for this and lost it on the second ride. I researched it and believed the hype.I was riding a hardtail 29er on flow trails. There are roots but not big rocks or drops. It's a fast flowing trail system (Lake Norman State Park). It fell off on a downhill section and I was aware of it. I hiked back up the hill and thought that I had possibly not mounted it securely. It isn't easy to secure while pedaling so I would stop to mount it which is less than ideal. I double checked it before continuing. About 50 minutes into the ride, I realized that it was gone again but have no clue where it fell off.I cannot recommend it for serious mountain biking. My first ride was with my son at a more sedate pace but much bumpier, root laden trail. It survived that so if you go slow, it should be ok. If you ride on paths or greenway trails, it should be fine as well but that's where most traditional frame mounted systems work as well.

Secure mount, not the toughest bottles
I've never lost one of these on rough trail. I've had no luck with any other bottle cages. Got to make sure you push it all the way on. I have smashed a few by kicking up rocks. I have it mounted on the bottom of the downtube. Better than smashing a carbon frame :/ one benefit that doesn't get mentioned often is that it allows you to shoulder your bike with a bottle cages even if the cage location is on the bottom of the downtube.
