Good solid bicycle security cable
This is perfect for me, as it's long enough to secure both wheels without having to remove the front, which may have to be done with a smaller cable or locking assembly. The price was great too. However if you have a really expensive bike, it's best to go with a top of the line locking assembly. My needs are very simple, so with that in mind, would highly recommend it. With a good padlock, this cable should work fine for most uses.

Perfect size to secure spare tire under my truck.
Weatherproof, for Illinois roads with salt during Illinois winters, perfect, get the right lock and you're Golden.

Using it for my bike and it is just great ...
I bought this looped cable to use with my bike's lock, since I have a quick release front wheel. The cable is very sturdy and performs very well. The plastic coating is of very high quality and feels very nice...The only disadvantage is that it is too heavy and hard to tie somewhere for storage. But this makes it feel more robust and more reliable.

78DPF Looped Cable, 6-Foot x 3/8-inch from Master Lock
This heavy cable will keep almost any means of theft of your personal items from happening. Keeping in mind a determined thief will find a way unless you have unlimited means to stop him. Thus Banks! A torch may cut it or a very large bolt cutter may be able to slice it, but likely these will not be available to the thief, in your truck bed when he looks in. If he is carrying around a 24 inch bolt-cutter, you are had. This cable is long and thick and protected from the elements by a thick vinyl coating, so although steel does rust, in time, you will be afforded many years of protection in this product. I think the claims made by Master Lock that: Recommended use with weather tough padlocks, Street Cuff and mini U-locks will supply virtually impenetrable protection. Two large and convenient loops with rust-resistant sleeves and scratch guards help protect the finish the cable is protecting with it's 3/8-inch diameter heft and a vinyl coating hopefully will prevent any scratching. I really like this product. I would refrain from carrying it around all the time as it is bulky and heavy, but it is good for what ails you, fearing for your possessions security.

Can be cut by vegetable knife
Please don't' go buy the reviews calling it looks nice, no scratches etc. Of course it does all but fails to what it should do. I learned it hard after my bike was stolen. Looks like the thief has used a simple cutter or vegetable knife. I just echo another review " Sliced like a hot knife through butter"

decent product
this cable will for sure meet my needs, the ends are built really well, I use them in my truck to secure tools and ladders when I am at lumber yards and stuff. I accidently left it locked on one end to my truck and the other end was dragging on the ground and drove about 4 miles with it scraping on the concrete, all that happened was some of the yellow coating got scraped down and there is a flat spot in the metal itself. The plastic coating is pretty thick also, should hold up for years

Theft deterrant, it works with a grain of salt.
I live in the City of Chicago where theft is rampant. Anything not tied down will be gone as soon as you turn your back.I use this cable to secure the quick release wheels to my bike when parked. It's looped around my bicycle tires and then into my U lock. The length is perfect for this. Haven't lost my wheels yet :-)So here's the shindig:If you primarily use only this cable to lock something down, you are fooling yourself. Just know that you could probably cut through it with a good pair of kitchen shears. Cable lock vs. steel cutters = your stuff gone in 5 seconds.---BUT ---I call this a "pain-in-the-@$$" level theft deterrent because the average bum isn't going to walk past your bike and want to deal with this, just to get a couple of bike tires or whatever your low-cost goods are.If you want to secure something, you need to get some serious chain. Probably point some cameras in that direction too. Don't forget the razor wire.I am on my third cable lock because I foolishly leave these in the basket of my bike for all to take.I don't think it matters which cable you buy, but this is the best value on amazon.

Not a bike lock, unless you're Bruce Banner
I don't know who uses this as a bike lock, Thor maybe. It's super thick and super resistant to being curled at all, so it's very difficult to keep on my bike and sometimes it springs back to a flat position while I'm biking. Unfortunately I threw away the single piece of packaging that came with it so I'm pretty sure I can't return it.
