I originally bought the 18 oz. cereal, salad, dessert bowls in assorted cool colors and loved them so much that I just had to buy the matching dinner plates. I actually waited almost 2 years because I did not need new dinner plates at all but I finally gave in and ordered them anyway. I honestly don't know why I waited so long because I absolutely love them! They are unique in their shape and the colors are gorgeous! My picture does not do these plates justice - they look much prettier in person. They are a nice, heavy weight and seem to be extremely durable. They were also packaged amazingly well and none of the plates arrived broken or chipped. I guess now I have to go ahead and buy the dessert/salad plates to complete my set!

I love, love, love these dishes. Not only do they look nice with my coastal decor, they have a nice weight and smooth, shiny finish. Most importantly, they do not scratch easily like many other dish sets!

I have had an attractive set of stoneware dishes for 4 years, but the small platters began cracking after many trips in the microwave. I ordered a lightweight and inexpensive set of small plates from Amazon, but they did not hand wash well (I don't have a dishwasher). The surfaces always felt greasy; they never felt clean after repeated scrubbings. I finally threw them away.I really needed a salad/dessert type of plate because this is a handy size for a single person. Back to Amazon and this time I saw a set of 6 (more than I needed) for a little more money, but in attractive colors and a really cool shape. That's how I became the owner of these Sweese salad plates and I LOVE them. They love the microwave and take to hand washing well. Now that I know this brand, I will probably end up with a whole set.

I have owned these plates for about months and I adore them. They are beautiful and functional. However, they claim to be microwave safe and dishwasher safe. I’ve had two split in half - one after being in the microwave and one out of the dishwasher. It’s so disappointing because I LOVE them. But I don’t want to buy new ones every six months. :(. Perhaps I could just handwash…and that might make a difference.

We love these unusual plates! It feels so different and way more natural to eat from an oval plate. We bought, beige, white and cool blues! These dishes fit perfectly with our other dishes. Although the dishes are contemporary, they carry a power in design that seems mid century American.The oval plates are super nice to use and fit more easily into cabinets and dishwasher than traditional round plates.
