I was looking for an attractive mid-height floor lamp with a sturdy base. Traditional pedestal floor lamps seem to knock over easily. This lamp exceeded my expectations. It requires very little floor space, and I now have two in my living room. This arrived well packaged and was easy to assemble. The 40 watt light bulbs, which are included, shed a soft glow. For more light, switch out the 40 watt bulbs for 60 watts. The design is beautiful and fits in well with my furniture.

This is a good lamp for what it is. It reminds of a lamp I was looking at at Crate & Barrel, with the main differences being (1) this one is $200 cheaper; (2) this one is a little smaller (I view this as a good thing -- it's still plenty big and I don't want a massive lamp), and (3) this one has seams down the side and you have to put it together.I don't view the latter things as that bad, so long as you are aware of them. The seams to me do not look awful, especially when the lamp is near a corner (meaning both seams are often hidden from view). Even when they are not hidden, it's like oh well, lots of lamps have seams. Putting the thing together took 25-30 mins (not bad). It's worth being careful/reading the directions through first so as to not screw stuff up.Overall, it's a pretty classy lamp that (with the warm-color light bulbs that are included) gives off a soft, warm ambient light. I like the vibe and the column/tower-of-light look is cool. Note that it is not bright enough to light a whole room by itself (I use it as one of several lamps in a pretty big 18x18 room in my apartment -- and in that space with help, it does the job well). I'm pleased that I got something this classy for less than $100 and I think it's a good buy.

I wanted a floor lamp with a mid century feel to warm up and light up a corner of a room. This lamp does the job. I like that the turn on-off switch is a foot push floor button. I like that it was easy to assemble. It's just what I was looking for

Very nice looking lamp. Modern and clean. Takes about five minutes to assemble and is pretty easy.

This is a knock-down product. Don't be overwhelmed by the excessive and glowingly emotional description that is little more than hype than an accurate depiction of what you get. You're getting A KIT. To be sure, a tube lampshade like this lamp uses is about a $500 item, so the pricing is not unreasonable. But to get this into a small shipping box, the shade is sent unwrapped, with two four foot vertical velcro seams that are very awkward and not easy to get to line up perfectly unless you're used to assembling weird stuff. When assembled, the provided bulbs do not cast a great deal of light. Overall it does look pretty much as the pictures show - it's not ugly and I like it. But it's definitely a case of someone getting overdosed on adjectives and other assorted BS when writing the description - typical of someone trying to pull the wool over our eyes. And that's why I only give three stars. I want accuracy in a description, not a lot of word salad about how I can use the product.

THe Brightech Parker decorative tower shade floor lamp looks great, overall. The fabric lamp shade comes in two pieces, with Velcro along the full length of both sides of each panel. This creates two visible seams when assembled; I'd prefer that this only had one seam, so you could place it in the back. The unit has two bulbs, which create two 'hot spots' inside the shade. I would prefer an LED light strip or set of light strips that would provide even lighting from top to bottom. The power cord has a foot switch that doesn't always work consistently, but does most of the time. For the price, this is a pretty good value. With a few improvements, this would be a great deal!UPDATE: I just spent the better part of 2 hours trying to fix the shade on this lamp. The glue on the velcro became tacky and failed. So, I pulled out all of the stitching that holds the velcro to the plastic, and tried sewing the two halves back together. Really annoying, especially for a lamp that's less than 2 years old. CAN NO LONGER RECOMMEND. Too bad, as it looked cool!

Don't understand negative reviews that say this lamp is hard to assemble, about quality or complaints about the 2 shade seams. I have purchased and done research on similar tower lamps and I couldn't be happier with this lamp! It took me 15 minutes to assemble and I hardly needed to look at the instruction sheet (1 sheet overall and 1 sheet for the shade). The base is stable and includes a weighted steel plate and high quality hardware as well as heavy textured plastic backed cloth shade material. While the shade has 2 seams, most lamp shades have 1 seam and I don't mind that this one has 2. The seam edges are finished nicely and super easy to take on and off to replace bulbs, which is not the case with other tower lamps. This lamp includes 2 very nice light bulbs equivalent to 60 watt, but I prefer lower light levels and used 2 standard 40 watt bulbs. I will definitely purchase again or give as a gift. Comes with only tool needed and is packed in a small ~18" x 18" x 5" box, easy to wrap for gift giving!

Already coming unglued along seam. Such a shame because the light is nice, but unusable
