Terrible nib.
I have a number of fountain pens. This one cannot be broken in and is the hardest pen to use that I own. My girl has two that write just fine, so maybe it's the luck of the draw. Love the way it looks. Hate the way it doesn't write.16, April, 2021 - I got sick and couldn't write for awhile. I cleaned it out and it writes great now. Upgraded to 4 stars. I think the medium nibs are the easiest to break in.

Very Poor Performance
This is a beautiful pen... however it doesn't flow ink very well at allAbsolutely garbage...

very dry nib-hard starter
in the looks dept, this pen and its stub nib brother are great, however both pens dry up very quickly and require some prodding (like shaking) to get them to write. maybe a finer point would work better than this broad nib and stub nib. neither pen would i carry with this problem--both relegated to desk duty.

Hard start. Dries out overnight,
Returned my first order for a replacement because the pen dried out after being capped for less than a day. It's a beautiful pen, and writes OK, but who can use a pen that you put in your briefcase for a day or two that won't write when you need to use it. Completely dies up. You have to prime the nib to get it to start back. I got my replacement, and it does the same thing. E-mailed Monteverde customer service and got no response. I am returning the second pen and giving it the lowest rating I can.

Great pen for everyday writing
This is an excellent pen at a great price. It is comfortable to write with and balanced with the cap posted. The steel nib is smooth, and the ink flows nicely (I'm using Noodlers 54th Massachusetts).If you're looking for an inexpensive pen for everyday use, then I highly recommend this one. It is an excellent value.

Quality issues
I really wanted to love this pen. It looks beautiful! However the writing experience was much to be desired. Hard start and lots of skipping.I will have to either get the nib tuned or get a new nib.After some research, many are saying the same thing. The nibs need work.Monteverde I hope you take note of this.
