A little bit stiffer, but much more secure than alternatives
This is high-quality tubing and a great option if you are having trouble with leaks or have a higher pressure drip irrigation system. I had previously tried the more flexible and softer MXC brand, but found that it could not securely hold at joints, especially under hot sun. This Rain Bird tubing is definitely stiffer and slightly more difficult to work with, but it is very much more secure and will save you having to rip and replace the lines you thought had been easy to lay but now keep coming apart. It does tend to want to keep its cooled shape, but a little bit of flexing in the other direction straightens it out. And if you intentionally bend it, it will hold the shape. I was so frustrated by my earlier choice that I replaced it all with this and double-barbed connectors. It hasn’t given me any problems since. Even in the couple of places where I ended up having to use single-barbed connectors, this tubing has also held up fine. Those who say this tubing is difficult to work with must have extremely low water pressure or no sunlight. Otherwise, I can’t imagine being satisfied with anything less than this product.

Purpose specific tubing.
I usually use scientific tubing, the generic clear stuff, because I never knew anything different until I wanted something stiffer. The generic clear tubing is awesome for low pressures and drip watering a lot of plants because the emitters can be placed without the tubing trying to retain its shape too much and moving it after placement. This is where the Rain Bird tubing fails at, its stiff and hard, its not easily placed at the base of plants. However I favor this tubing because of its rigid factor. The Rain Bird tubing is far superior with spray emitters and higher pressures. With higher pressures, emitters will come flying off of the scientific tubing if they aren't super glued on there. The Rain Bird tubing holds them in place but this is also an issue because it holds them too well and I have to cut the emitters off for cleaning or changing types! However, this tubing is durable, rigid, etc, it stays upright when I mount it on cane poll while scientific/chemical tubing droops over.RainBird Pros**Rigid and retains shape*Retains emitters*250Ft for a fair price!Cons**Emitters have to be cut off! :(*Very stiff!Scientific Tubing pros**May or may not be cheaper depending on where you shop.*Very pliable.*removable emittersCons**Emitters blow off from high pressures!*Droops over when mounted vertically.Picture included for details.

Super good quality at a great price
I can't believe how much better this tubing is than the crap that gets included in the cheap "dripper" kits. I saw some complaints about "stiffness", which I don't understand. This stuff is super pliable compared the super stiff cheap stuff. Amazingly, it's actually less expensive than the no-name brand stuff. Very easy to install drippers and "T"s. Super easy to lay it out due to it being so supple.Ambient temperature has a lot to do with the flexibility of the tubing, and it's currently in the low 80'sF here where I live, which is helpful, but this tubing is so much more flexible than my other kit junk at this temperature.

By flexible they mean you can bend it
It is strong and durable. It comes well packaged. The problem is that it isn't rubbery like some. This is more like a thick walled straw than a rubbery hose. Because of it's stiffness, it is not easily put on a barbed connector. The only way I could think it would be done is by heating it up and quickly attaching to a connector or pump. The problem would be that it will always be a part of that connector or pump because heating it to remove will also heat the connector. If this is what you are looking for, this is a great item. This was a waste of money for what I wanted it for so I am inclined to write a review to advise against it if you are looking for something more flexible.

Rain Bird T22-250S Drip Irrigation 1/4" Blank Distribution Tubing, 250' Roll, Black
Tubing is perfect for what I am using it for .... have lined up tubing across all of my citrus trees, so that They can be watered daily at various times. Working great. I ordered another 250' tubing to finish off my orchard.

Nice textured flexible tubing
It’s rigid, but it’s flexible. I have other tubing that is much softer and easier to make corners with. I also have tubing that is too sturdy and feels brittle if I bend it too far. This is right in the middle, but the texture on the outside is nice and seems to seal well. Good value for sure

Tubing Kinks
I bought this tubing when doing maintenance on my front yard irrigation because the price per foot was better than other alternatives. The tubing is more rigid than other tubing I have used and tends to kink at tight bends near distribution hubs and micro-sprinklers. The lack of elasticity makes it more difficult to apply to barbed fittings and raises concerns about the potential for freeze/thaw damage. Although I try to bury most of my tubing under mulch, some of the tubing is necessarily exposed to the elements. It will be interesting to see how this tubing works out after a year of use. Ultimately I was able to utilize the tubing for several new distribution zones. It was a bit more difficult to work with than the more flexible elastic tubing that I have used, but the low cost makes up for the extra effort (assuming the tubing is comparable in service life and durability).
