these are my all time favorite picks.
im biased. Ive used these for over a decade. i found them when i was starting to learn metal, they were given to me by a old friend that was helping me learn arpeggiated sweeps and deathcore song structures. That guy isnt with us anymore and these werent even his favorite, he recomended them to me for my playing style which is coming from a punk rock and blues backround. great for those that want a ridgid medium thats slippery.

Durable!
These last longer than any pick I've ever used.

My favorite picks.
If you like a lot of control with you playing, these are great. Work perfect with my 7 string even with heavier gauge strings. Have been using only these picks since 2013.

Nice picks. small and stiff
I have a tool that allows me to make my own picks. I do not use it very much unless a friend wants a hand full of small picks, at no cost. These picks have the same issue. They are very small, a little slippery and in between a standard medium and a stiff. I ordered a pick holder from Amazon, so I think these will come in handy when I need a pick a tad bit stiffer then a standard medium.

I like the feel of these picks, just wish they were a little bit bigger

Pick the absolute best pick
Let me tell you that I'm a boi that likes a thick pick. You see me with a pick in my hand you know it's thicc. I've used 5mm picks and I've used .20mm and I instantly knew I needed the girth in my life. I like a 1-2mm thickness personally, it hits me right in the sweet spot but all kindsa picks come in thicc so why pick this picks you might ask? Because it's smooth and when you work with something that's big, black, and thicc, it better be smooth let me tell ya. Now maybe you don't like it thick, I've certainly met my fair share of dames that had that preference and if that's the case they go thinner. I've used the .80 and .55 mm and while that .55 was far to flimsy for my somewhat over masculine hands just know that it was still very smooth and for something so flimsy, very easy to play with. Don't hesitate, this is the pick that you need in your life.

Most of all - I love the tone
I'm really happy with the Black Ice Heavy picks (1.10 mm), which I bought after being badly disappointed with my last order of Dunlop Jazz IIIs.I would call the Black Ice picks medium sized. They are roughly the same size and shape as Fender 551 picks, but a little bigger than the Jazz IIIs. They are stiffer than the 551s and perhaps a touch less stiff than the IIIs (and thinner than the IIIs too). One thing that may account for the nice way the Black Ice perform is that the edges are beveled and smoothly finished in a way which differs from the 551s (which I still like) and from the Jazz IIIs.In terms of playability, they are about the same to me as any other pick of this shape and stiffness. But the most important thing to me is the hardest thing to communicate to you: The tone. I love the tone I get with these picks, and the best I can do for you is to say that I was looking for a pick that would generate a solid, mellow jazz tone with an archtop - a tone that reminds me of say, Barney Kessel (but without Barney's chops of coursse). This is what the Black Ice delivers.

I've finally found the perfect pick
I've tried so many different picks, all gauges, materials, and types, and finally I can stop blowing money on them. I love the standard 1.14mm Tortex Jazz III, but I find it to small for me for more Metallica style down-picking rhythm. For that, I love the Tortex Jazz III XL 1.14mm. But -- for lead, the XL isn't as good as the regular Jazz III. I wish they made something in-between and that's when I discovered these. I got the "heavy" ones which are 1.10mm, so almost the same gauge. In the photo, I evenly stacked those 3 picks:From bottom to top, it goes:Tortex Jazz III XL 1.14mm (Purple)Black Ice Guitar Pick, Heavy (Black)Tortex Jazz III 1.14mm (White)I find that I can play all types of music, types of picking, lead/rhythm, etc with this one pick. AND they aren't super pricey. (ChickenPicks are awesome, but about $6-7 per pick.Hooray.
