I bought this for my son, who is not a qualified electrician, to use as a first check of mains and light switches in his recently purchased house.House was an ex-rental so I bought this for him to do a quick safety check of socket points and switch panels on the day he moved in. So easy to use just touch the cap and apply the screwdriver tip to any exposed metal, such as screws on mains sockets, and if it glows it shows that a mains voltage is present on what should be grounded, for safety, electrically connected items. If it glows then an electrical safety check should be done immediately by a suitably qualified engineer and the problem resolved.Only works for AC mains. Offers peace of mind when moving into a new property especially one previously rented and later found to have never had an annual electrical safety check done which is now a legal requirement.Also handy as a normal screwdriver.My son did employ an electrician to solve a switch problem where the switch was burnt, visually, due to a poor installation but this simple tool proved that there was no immediate risk to occupiers. It's peace of mind but if any doubt DO get qualified people in.I recommend this only as an indicator for initial peace of mind and as a small screwdriver. Maybe keep it handy in a kitchen drawer.

These electrical test screwdrivers are fine but they are not 125mm overall length. They are 150mm overall length.
