EVS Sports SB03 Shoulder Brace, Black

Waited to write this review to play tennis in it for several weeks. Conclusion -it’s outstanding in every way to support my shoulder until my labrum and rotator cuff surgery.During abduction for a big cut on my forehand and pronation during my serves, my arm was jello before and after any impact. My choice was to sit out my five days of tennis per week until my surgery 8 weeks from the tear or try this thing. Glad I did. Even showed my surgeon what I was using until he sees me on the operating table. He was intrigued.The compression of this thing feels good, solid, stable. The adjustable x strip offers even more support when I extend my arm to the side of my torso (abduction). The X strap keeps me from abducting too far causing more tearing.Because I’m a 6 feet tall woman with a 34C chest size, I was concerned the lay of the straps wouldn’t work because they would hurt across the breast or because the rib cage strapping wouldn’t be flush. Wrong.So glad the thick bands rest well enough across my support bra (already compressing me) and nicely around my rib cage. Just note - I did have to size up from the M to the L most likely to accommodate the exercise bra/breasts. Glad I did because I can pull the rib cage strapping even tighter.The Velcro on this device is super strong. It sticks so well, I feel like I’m ripping the brace itself apart when I’m separating it. I’m not. It’s just built well and sticky. Just make sure you align the Velcro perfectly on the device. If you don’t and you’re wearing it under your shirt like I do, the Velcro scratches. I just re align.I’m guessing you men would be unequivocally satisfied with the fit of this with minimal adjustments or considerations on your pecs. Give this a try. It’s worth it.I wish EVS made a device designed specifically for women where the front part opening intentionally accommodated breast. Not a complaint. Just a suggestion. I’m supremely satisfied I’m still playing tennis -despite the 3 painful tears - until my operation.Granted, it does not fit like a customized brace would. The arm sleeve bunches a bit when I extend the X strap to fit tighter and there is the occasional pucker along the armpit. That said, it’s doing a great job for a generic support device.

Shoulder muscles in both arms are shredded. Have lost the ability to raise my right arm unless twisted in a certain way to activate a different muscle. Dr said, "I can not fix this, use braces to support what you have left" Where is the brace store I asked. There isn't one he said. Where do I purchase braces I asked. You'll have to look on line. What do I look for I asked. Something to support your shoulders. Well, I was in shock anyway from the knowledge I will loose use of my arms sometime in the future. It took over a month of investigating different braces. I finally settled on this EVS model. I wear one on each shoulder/arm. Hot and sweaty in the summer, confining over clothes. Not comfortable wearing under clothes, for me anyway. It took some time to get used to them overlapping across my chest. They did finally become just part of my daily routine. I have washed them twice now. I do believe the first one I purchased to try out was a return as when I purchased the second one it was much firmer and the material itself looked different and new. No matter. I am a little disappointed that I haven't had them a year yet and they need to be replaced as the material the velcro attaches to is fuzzy and the pads that attach to it will not attach to the fuzz. I did try to shave off the fuzz, no luck with fastening. now one of the fastening pads is loose from the brace. Keep in mind, this is the one that I have a belief was a used one that had been returned. I will continue with this product as it truly does give me the support I need. I'm just going into my next purchase with a mind to check it out when it first arrives and send it back if it displays weakness in the areas that have failed on the first one. I don't find anywhere that indicates the longevity of the product with every day use. Truly supportive of the shoulders.
