I just installed one of these in a motor home. The hardest part was removing the bed and floor to gain access to the top of the C7 engine. I use an 'el-cheapo' rubber and plastic strap wrench to remove the old filter and tighten the new one. If you try to use a metal one you'll spend much more time than it should take just trying to get it on the filter.Do not pre fill this filter! Install it dry and either crank the engine in bursts of no more than 30 seconds or use a manual lift pump. Cat sells them for a reasonable price. Amazon sells cheap ones is you like living dangerously.

I purchased this for my air dog lift pump fits perfectly after you remove the 2 fastener tabs on the pump side and trim the bracket a little bit
