True, 100% Erasable, Graphite Transfer Paper
Not all graphite transfer papers are created equally. It has been very frustrating to purchase “graphite” paper that is “erasable” only to find out it is not, in fact, erasable at.all.Saral graphite transfer paper does exactly what it claims, “erases like pencil”; FINALLY!!!There is no downside/con I’ve found Saral graphite paper to have. No longer do I have to worry about my hand/arm causing a smudge, I simply erase the smudge and it’s GONE!It works well for all my various projects from painting to pyrography. I highly recommend this product, it’s legit!!

The best commercial transfer paper I've tried
I usually make my own transfer paper using graphite and lighter fluid on tracing paper, but this product was easier to obtain, so I gave it a go. I found that my lines stayed sharp, and were erasable. If you have a complicated drawing, you'll probably have some graphite smear, but it's simple to clean it up with a kneaded eraser. I tried using it on 300lb rough watercolor paper, and had to retrace the complex drawing using a sharp 6H pencil, so test it out before making the mistake I did.

Problem-solver!
The problem: how to paint a picture of our school mascot onto two wooden worm composting bins my son built. Free hand was not an option because he wanted it exact. Looked on line and someone suggested taking a big piece of paper, scribbling on the back with a soft lead pencil, then flipping it over and tracing over it, which would leave a faint impression on the surface to be painted. They described it as homemade transfer paper. Transfer paper? We'd never hear of it, but of course, after a quick search on Amazon, we found it. Well, it worked perfectly! He just took a blown up PDF of the mascot, taped it to the transfer paper, taped the transfer paper to the box, and traced over all the design with a regular pencil. It left a nice impression on the wood and he was able to paint right onto it. He also printed out some letters in large font off the computer and transferred and painted the school name the same way. This was much cleaner and easier that scribbling on the back of a paper in soft lead pencil. I highly recommend keeping a roll of this stuff around the house! I can think of many ways it could be useful for different DIY projects.

Great Price! Does the job. Also, great for kids!
Having a hard time transferring an image to your art paper? I usually have a hard time when working in detail and this allows a very fine and detailed pattern which is easy to see and not a pale gray. One thing I did was to have my friends daughter pick a page from a book she liked and let her put this and some paper under it. She traced her picture and then was able to color it in herself and really felt she had done the drawing all on her own. A bit of that and she'll want to become an artist when she grows up. With art.. any shortcut is a blessing and not "cheating" - transfer of image is just that. What you do with the image is what counts. Great product because there is plenty on the roll, it's small enough to cut an end off for small sketches or to run a length out and tape for larger pieces. I use it for all sorts of projects.

Love the white, NOT the black!
Cannot get the black transfer paper to erase on wood! The white worked great and erased easily but the black will not come off - I've tried several kinds of erasers and even a magic eraser (for cleaning) which just smeared it all over. I would definitely buy the white but not the black again! Don't know why they were so different

Transfer Paper Works Very Well for Tracing Patterns
I purchased the Saral Transfer Paper Roll in blue and have been using it as I trace sewing patterns onto the Sun Glo White Thumbnail Sketch Tracing Paper. The paper consistently transfers marks with the use of a tracing wheel with very few smudges from where the paper is held in place by my fingers/hand. I've used other transfer papers that have left many unwanted marks; this transfer paper seems to do so less frequently. This comes in a roll/box very similar to kitchen waxed paper, although without a cutting edge. I've pulled out the length of paper needed and then cut with scissors. Be sure to wipe your scissors off if you are concerned about transferring the color with your next use. I've been very pleased with the blue paper; it works well for tracing patterns and also could be used to transfer pattern markings to appropriate fabric. I'll order again when my first roll is nearing its end!

A reliable staple for artists
I have used SARAL for years in my art practice. It is a reliable way to transfer a loose 'map' of an image from sketchbook or photo to canvas. Like an outline for a book, it captures the basic shape and layout of your subject, but gives you full latitude to develop the image creatively. I find the rolls last a long, long time. It is especially useful when teaching painting to students with little skill or confidence in their drawing skills. It is my go to brand for transfer paper.
