You shouldn’t be using a lot of protein on low porosity hair. Once protein is used on low porosity hair it tends to be locked into the hair for some time. In Low porosity hair there is difficulty getting products into the cuticle & beyond because this hair type is tightly closed. Once you perform techniques to open the cuticle so it can absorb protein & moisture, the hair tends to hold onto it for some time. Unlike high porosity hair which absorbs products & moisture easily & looses them easily. So you must be careful to balance protein with moisture & to avoid using too much protein too often. Too much or too frequent protein treatments can lead to protein overload that cause brittle, fragile hair that breaks. Once per month protein treatments are good for you unless your beautician tells you that you need more protein due to some circumstances. Use products designed for low porosity hair.

Great conditioner for dry hair

Wonderful deep conditioner! Saw an influencer on YouTube talking about it. I used it for 15 minutes with a shower cap after a clarifying shampoo and my hair was soft and felt conditioned. I definitely recommend!

works as described' nice moisture/protein mix

Has a nice fresh scent, but not too overpowering. I purchased this as part of the Curly Girl Method, as it was an "approved" product. I only use it every 2-3 weeks as a deep conditioning mask or when I use clarifying shampoo... it would be too much for me to use weekly. My hair is color treated, but not overly damaged as I do not use heat or straighten. I leave it on per instructions and it does the job. I feel it does not weigh my hair down, but my hair is definitely softer and I can get the tangles out. For reference I have 2b/2c/3a combo hair. I am low porosity and medium density for those aware of CGM. My hair is also very long with long layers. I feel for the price it's a good beginner's product. However, due to the length of my hair, I have to use a good bit of product and do not feel it will last me as long as someone with medium to short length hair. For this reason, I will probably try another deep conditioner when this runs out, but would definitely keep this on my hair product list.

Good product, Very poor packing, unsealed lid

Product is excellent for hair conditioning but arrived unsealed with some of the product leaking out from the lid into the box. Poorly packed- container was very loosely placed into a box with minimal packing support. Really needs a seal around the lid.
