What a pleasant surprise...
So in the spirit of full disclosure I need to say that I bought this olive oil without particularly high expectations. My thought process had basically been this: I cook with olive oil a LOT. I go through a ton of it in a month. My local grocer only sells relatively small bottles at high prices... and I really don't need a particularly high quality olive oil just to saute a little garlic and such.I did not buy this expecting it to be of a quality I'd be willing to use as an herbed oil dip for bread... or even of a quality that I'd be willing to use as a dressing for salad or tossed veggies. So it was a very pleasant surprise to find that I can use it for both and still enjoy the taste! Is this comparable to a specially pressed olive oil that has been lovingly prepared by ancestral monks in a remote abbey high in the mountains of Greece through a process handed down through a thousand generations and then sold only to those who are willing to pay a few thousand dollars AND walk through fire? Uh...no... and quite frankly, if you buy this expecting it to compare to a high grade olive oil, you probably shouldn't be allowed near the open-flame of a stove to begin with. But if you are looking for a good olive oil to use in your day-to-day meal preparation that won't cost you an arm and a leg, then this is certainly a good buy and definitely of a good quality. If anything, it's of a much better quality than you would otherwise receive at this price-per-ounce.I consider this to be one of the better purchases I've made this month.

Taste the heat of that pepper
This authenticated pure olive oil. The spicy flavor is the identity confirmation. Make salad dressing with ACV and your favorite herbs. In spring dandelion season I infuse dandelion flowers. Not any greens. Sweet and polyphenols too.

Large Bottle, Great Flavor
This is a nice large bottle of olive oil with good flavor at a reasonable price. In addition to the traditional uses for olive oil, if you parboil green beans, drain and cover them, then add a bit of this olive oil to the pan with a chopped clove of garlic and pepper, saute the garlic for a minute, then add the green beans back to the pan and cook over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes, everyone agrees that the beans are much improved. Also great for adding to pasta. I find that when I make vinaigrette dressing with olive oil, I have to let it warm up on the kitchen counter for a few minutes so the oil will mix with the other ingredients. This olive oil has great flavor in such dressings.

Kirkland Extra Virgin Olive Oil
It is quite difficult to find a reasonably priced bottle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil that is 100% pure Olive Oil. If one looks closely at the labels, one will see that there may be "other" oils mixed in with the olive oil. When I pay for a bottle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, I want 100% pure olive oil and not some kind of a mix. When purchasing olive oil from a seller that advertises it is 100% Italian oil, I become dismayed when I see that "oils from other countries" may be mixed in to the supposedly 100% Italian oil I want to purchase. If one knows what real pure olive oil is supposed to taste like, then what is generally available in stores and even on line, falls short of expectation. However, I am quite surprised to find the quality of the Kirkland Extra Virgin Olive Oil to be extremely good. It tastes like it may be from a region of Italy that may have almond trees around. It is a robust and pleasing tasting oil and I am quite pleased with it. I recommend this extremely reasonably priced oil to anyone.Rcaman

good for cooking does not change the flavor of food much
If you need an extra virgin olive oil for general cooking and baking this is a good product as it does not change the flavor of your food much. It does add a nice buttery flavor to onions and bell peppers. I get a lot of compliments when I lightly simmer those ( finely chopped) in this oil for about 3 mins on low heat then let them sit covered in a skillet, sprinkle a little salt and you are done. If you put it on the side of a plate next to steak, fish, poultry or eggs it makes an awesome and healthy side dish. It will not compete with the natural flavor of eggs or other veggies and meat. It is mild enough to add to breads and cookies and to use for prepping baking pans. If you want a more potent olive flavor add some crushed olives. I give it 5 stars because it adds goodness without changing the natural flavor of foods. I like olive oil goodness but I don't like all of my meals tasting like olive oil so this one was a winner. The 2 liter bottle came in a handy jug shaped container that fit nicely in my fridge door. TY for reading my review. My review is based on the kinds of food I cook at home. These are mostly: British, Welsh, Irish, Tatarian, American, Indian, Persian, Chinese, Italian, Caribbean, Brazilian, Norwegian. Takk! Ha det Bra!
