Magnetic needle reg..
The needle doesn't stop for quite a while. Keep on dwindling for quite a long time.

Not a reliable instrument
The construction of every component EXCEPT the needle is pretty good.The compass needle itself is quite flimsy and tends to get stuck on the circular scale and the damping action is terrible. It would be next to impossible to take bearings and strike readings effectively.
