it can be used maybe 1 or twice depending on how well you clean it after each use.

Can I use this to apply epoxy?

I wouldn't. The nap might come off in epoxy and even a little bit is too much.

can a screw in extension pole be used?

no, there are no threads on the handle. However, it has two holes in the end of the handle and I wonder if they make a snap in extension .
